Lovedrobe Ladies Day!

Photo from with thanks from Lovedrobe!

Way back at the beginning of March I was invited to a Ladies Day by Lovedrobe a number of us bloggers were invited to Manchester and have our make up done and try on some of the new drops from Lovedrobe! I met up with Betty Pamper and Kellie at the station where were popped on the tram to Media City where we met everybody else and arrived on mass to the event!

We had ever flowing fizz and nibbles (which unfortunately I couldn't eat as I'm celiac, however they did look delicious!) We were then allowed to basically try everything we'd like on and snap away they also had two lovely make up artists so we could also have our make up done if we wanted, which I of course opted for as any excuse to be made over and I'm there! From the collection of clothes it was everything I've come to expect from Lovedrobe lots of cute floral's and pretty safe choices with a few more daring numbers for the more quirky among us! As you can see from the image of all us blogger babes together there was something for everyone!

(Please ignore my awkward face!)

Here I'm wearing the Elephant Print Shirt Dress in a UK22 something I've found with Lovedrobe is that more often than not I need to size up at least one dress size as they seem to run a little snug. Which for me isn't a problem but I know if you're at the high end of their size guide on the site some pieces unfortunately may not work for you.  I actually really like this dress and it's something that would be perfect in the summer for me, though I'd probably take it up a little as it's super long on me! Would be the perfect length for anyone with lovely long legs though! The next dress I tried on was this Wrap Over Check Dress again here I believe I'm wearing a UK22 I felt a little like an art teacher in this (which for me is definitely a good thing!) I also think the wrap over hugs my curves really well in the snap above! I must thank my Pro photographer Betty for all the snaps of me she took!

The final dress I tried on (and the one I ended up taking home as part of the goodie bag!) was this Floral Print Shift Dress  again here I'm wearing a UK22 I found that this dress was very narrow around the knees but I loved the print so much that I really didn't mind! Again this dress was too long on me but I've since taken it up to make it more wearable for my stumpy little legs! I thought me and Betty both rocked this so decided to show us both together!

Thanks again to Lovedrobe for a fabulous day that I was lucky enough to spend with some of my favourite ladies!

Learn The Fit at Panache!

Tattooed Tealady, Betty Pamper and me!

Yours truly and Tattooed Tealady!

A few weeks back now I got the chance to spend a day at Panache HQ with a number of lovely bloggers who the majority I'd had the pleasure of being in there presence before. One blogger I was most excited to 'meet' for the first time properly (because you read there blogs you feel like you already know them!) was Sophia from Tattooed Tealady, not only is she an absolute doll, she's also a good laugh also, hence just rocking the coolest shades you've ever seen up in the picture above!

Panache's  'Learn The Fit' day was a workshop usually aimed at  retailers and retail assistants of them , this was the first time they'd opened to bloggers so we all felt very privileged! The day was led by Karen who owns The Little Big Bra Shop in Market Harborough which isn't too far from where I was at uni so I'm hoping to take a trip there when I go to pick up the last of my belongs! Karen was so lovely, naturally funny and made sure everyone was at ease, I really enjoyed myself and learnt so much! She also told me I was wearing the right sized bra which is always a confidence boost (in case you're wondering I'm at 38E for Panache bra's). We also got to meet some of the buyers and designers who showed us upcoming and current styles along with the mood boards, which as a fashion student myself I loved!

Panache were also lovely enough to let us go away with a swim set and lingerie set from them, both the pieces I chose were from Cleo my favourite range as they are so pretty and colourful (though sometimes I do wish they had more than a row of 2 hooks and eyes) I cannot wait to show you them on as they are too adorable not to! Thank you to everyone at Panache and Best British Bloggers for making my day so lovely (and getting me gluten free food for lunch, it was so sweet of you to do so as I didn't expect it!)

Below are the links to some of the bloggers I got to spend my day with!

That Girls Rocking...

                                                                           Clements Riberio for Evans.

I think this is going to be a little ongoing thing on my blog quite like my "Currently Coveting" is. There is so many amazing Plus Size (and Straight Size) bloggers that I fangirl over I  felt that it was time for me to let you know who I'm loving.

And of course my first lady is Bethany from Arched Eyebrow who I have had the pleasure of meeting on a number of occasions if I need inspiration for looking amazing this is my first stop.  I've chosen this picture because well I love prints and I don't really have the balls to wear them all over like this! This picture I borrowed off Beth's blog (I asked I'm allowed!) it was taken at the latest Clements Riberio event Evans put on to preview there new current collaboration with the brand. This is not a jumpsuit its in fact a tunic and matching pants but how awesome does it look! I know that some plus sized women wouldn't ever dream of wearing these together but seeing this makes me want to match up all my prints and patterns!Which is totally making this some of my favorite pieces from the Clements Riberio Collection. Just basically Beth makes me want to be braver with my wardrobe choices and of course shes a total babe as well.

Do you have any bloggers plus size or not that give you wardrobe inspiration or even envy, let me know!

Plus North.

These are just a few pictures from Plus North from Saturday (all taken by Simply Be as I totally forgot to snap any!) and yes that is me in my undies you could say I was super brave or super crazy but most likely a mixture of both! The day itself was amazing even though I wasn't feeling brilliant. It was held in Leeds at a seriously wonderful venue called Aspire, I travelled with the lovely Nic and it being the first time I'd met her it was a true pleasure!

In my opinion Becky and Toni should be insanely proud of themselves because it was one of the most awesome events I've been to for a long time. Being in a room pretty much full of plus size women definitely makes you feel pretty powerful. The catwalk was by Simply Be and involved a number of bloggers me included of course I could of chickened out and not done underwear but I wanted to do something daring for once and to be quite honest it wasn't that bad I mean I could of looked a lot worse than I actually did. There were also a large number of other companies and brands there so many I can't name them all it could take forever! Benefit were also kind enough to do our make up, so we all had a similar colour to each other.

It was truly an amazing experience and I'm so glad I went and got myself involved and seriously cannot wait for the next one!

Tartan.

Just a little update to show you all some tartan loving that I have going on! I wasn't particularly happy with these pictures but I thought I'd post them up anyway as I didn't want to leave it more than a week without a post, shocking I know!

Thought I'd show you 2 new pieces and an item I've had since before Christmas and worn to death yet never blogged about, which is very unusual for me! The poncho/scarf concoction was a sale buy from Urban Outfitters and has been worn to death, I adore it and it looks lovely with almost everything in my wardrobe and more importantly it's comfortable and warm, though I have now lost 3 out of the 4 buttons which were on it. The denim jacket I picked up from a charity shop in my local town as its got the almost perfect over sized fit for me and is much better than my other denim jacket which I'll eventually be whacking up on ebay.

I saw the shirt on Amy's blog when she did a review for One Stop Plus and I instantly fell in love! So I patiently waited until I could justify buying it then snapped it up. After waiting for what felt like a year for it to arrive (it was a little over a week) I got it and loved it though it's a little too snug under the arms for my usual liking. It came with a black ribbon in but I added these two tartan ones though after taking these picture I gently pulled it over my head and the lace/netting ripped and I don't know how to fix it yet so I'm a bit gutted. Just thought I'd add the lippy I've got on came in my prize from Dani's blog birthday giveaway! It's lush!

Plus London Two.

These are just a few snaps I've borrowed from various people from Plus London Two last week, if you were following the hashtag on twitter you would of seen how we ended up in a blizzard but regardless it was so brilliant I'm not going to give you a minute by minute run down of the evening because everything was just so lovely there really is no need. I'd just like to thank Claire from A Monkey Fatshionista for organising the whole thing and getting so many people and company's involved! In fact these pictures were either taken by one of her lovely friends Sarah or Clarie's equally lovely fella, Claire also got another friend to come and set up a little pop up studio where we could have proper pictures taken which is where the ones of me and Lauren.
We got some amazing goodies from the lovely ladies from Simply Be and elomi (I was specially surprised with elomi they were so lovely and I finally got fitted after basically guessing my bra size for most of my bra wearing life!) For the event I wore my Asos Curve play suit which I'm yet to fully show on here even though I've had it since before Christmas and some cute patent loafers.

I just wish I could go back to my 12 year old self and tell her that all these great things for plus size women would involve myself. I used to really hate how I was but now I'm finally starting to accept myself for who I am and to be quite honest I have blogging and mostly all the amazing plus size bloggers to thank for it. Okay so I still might find it hard to look people I don't know in the eye incase they judge me on my size but when I'm blogging or at events I'm basically way more confident in myself. Sorry I'm starting to gush but its just something I feel strongly about and wish girls who may be bigger than there friends had people like us to look up to because I sure as hell wish I had when I was 12.

ROLL ON MORE GATHERINGS, so I can see all the girls!

Simply Be/ Simply Yours Press Day.

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to London for a couple of press events the main one being one for Simply Be and Simply Yours and I have to say I had the best time ever! Though it has to be said whenever I see the other plus size bloggers I truly do have such a wonderful time, it was brilliant to meet some new bloggers to, who I'd been speaking to on twitter so I felt like I knew them already.

The event itself was also lovely and I have to say I've never been so impressed with swimwear! You can check out all the other bloggers posts about it for lots more pictures, I didn't take that many I was far to busy chattering away! The bottoms two pictures are from Georges blog and the Simply Be one if you want to see more. The pieces in there spring/summer for next year are amazing lots of cute embellishment's and detailing sometimes you don't often find on plus size fashion. After going the Dune group press day the evening before ( I'll post about that soon) I've gotten a little obsessed with shoes and I adore the ones simply be had to show, cute, quirky and still wider fitting utter perfection!

I'd also like to say all the people I met who worked for either Simply Be or Simply Yours and going to the pub afterward was so lovely and Charlotte if your reading this it was so great to meet you and your so, so lovely! I now realise I've said lovely far to much in this post but its the right word for what I want to say! I honestly hope I get invited to more Simply Be/Simply Yours events in the future as I feel I go so much out of it and seriously enjoyed myself!

And lastly here are all the bloggers who I hung out with who attended Lauren from Pocket Rocket, George from fuller figure fuller bust , Naomi from Diamonnds 'n' Pearls, Ceri from Curvy Girl Blogs , Mhairi from Lilybobombs Lovely Lumps and finally Em from Oh the places you'll go.

Here are some cheeky pictures from the Curves in Couture event I attended last Thursday in London, all of these pictures are either from Lauren from Pocket Rocket Fashion or Claire from A Monkey Fatshionista as I didn't get any of all us bloggers together! I'll post about the event and catwalk show in full later on in the week.

I just wanted to do a little post about how lovely it was to see some of my fave bloggers again and meet some new ones such as em from Oh, the places you'll go! and George from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust . I'm so glad I got into blogging not only because I get invited to such amazing event but also all the amazing people I meet I can honestly say that I've made Friends for life in so may of the bloggers I've met. Everyone is so much fun to be with as well, sorry I'm probably starting to sound pretty soppy right now but its all true!

The last picture I put up because technically it proves I've had a picture with Zandra Rhodes if you look to the right hand corner you can see me and George's head on the tier above, you wouldn't believe how excited I got when I saw this picture on the Daily Mail website!I've got lots of pictures from the catwalk show as well as the generally evening and I'll get them all up soon though it may take a couple of posts!
