Lipstick Loving with Lovedrobe.

Before I type anything else I just want to say I LOVE THIS TOP/TUNIC! 

the print is my ultimate dream, I'm sure you're all aware by now that I'm more than a little addicted to lipstick and any print related to it and this is to die for. So when Lovedrobe asked if I'd like to review something from their site I knew it HAD to be this Lipstick print chiffon tunic. With it being chiffon I was worried that I'd get too warm in it as I'm just a really hot blooded person and always boiling but surprisingly for me this was fine! I decided to order a 22/24 as I wasn't sure on sizing and in the past I've usually had to wear a UK22 with Lovedrobe but I think I'd have gotten away with the 20 in this. However I do like it being more oversized so I can belt it and wear it with leggings. The sleeves are elasticated at the bottom with means you can roll them up like I have here or have them sitting on your lower arm. 

Here I've dressed it up more but I've also worn it with a scruffy pair of converse when I've been running errands so it's really versatile. I'm hoping to go out for drinks in Manchester soon with one of my old friends and I think this top would work perfectly with some wedges and a (p)leather jacket. If you can't tell I'm totally smitten with this and I will definitely be keeping an eye out on Lovedrobes website to see if they bring anymore super cute prints out! Summer Lace - SheIn Review.

I'm not really sure what's happening with this outfit but I'm really loving it! The hair is maybe a little bit 80s as is the lipstick but I'm still feeling it! Again I'm sorry for the slight radio silence but with my fashion show now been and gone (I'll get photos up as soon as I can as I'd love to show you my graduate collection!) 

I was sent this cute lace number from SheIn (formally known as She Inside) who I've heard of for quite sometime and seen them featured on a number of straight sized blogs but I was a little wary due to the sizing so I decided to go for something that looked over sized and in the largest size available which was a XL. I'm pleasantly surprised at how utterly lovely this top is! It can be worn as a beach cover up or as a sheer tunic/top which I've done both above. What else I wasn't prepared for was that it felt nice, cheap lace can sometimes feel scratchy and irritating but this doesn't at all. I'm now really looking forward to trying some other pieces from SheIn if I get the chance to so to prove that plus size girls can also shop there! The shoes also look pretty fabulous but alas I have really wide feet! 

I styled this up with a swimsuit from Asos Curve which I do love but just wasn't sure how to wear it! Funnily enough I think I'm more into "Fatkinis" than swimsuits something I never thought I'd be saying as up until a year ago it wouldn't have been anything but a one piece! I also bought myself this bag as a little birthday treat as I've been after one for ages! (I also had one as a kid and I'm happily relieving that now!) 

So what do you think? Shall I wear this out during the summer?

Curvissa Blogger Challenge.

It's time for a little blogger challenge with 4 other bloggers, Courtesy of Curvissa with this sweet little Ostrich Textured Clutch Bag.

I decided to style this up with something I generally massively shy away from and that is the humble jean/trouser. I just find it so difficult to find ones that fit me with without being to big on the bum but too small on the waist or just fall down constantly! So far this pair from Asos Curve (supposed to be ankle grazers but who am I kidding at 5'2 they're full length on me!) are doing okay, high waisted so they control my tummy in a little but not tight so the button digs in. In hindsight I think I would have preferred this beautiful drop with a plain circle skirt to make it a little more dressy and girly. I thought the clutch bag worked really well with this top as it brings out the Burgundy colour in the back ground of the floral print. I simply adore anything off the shoulder and this top will be perfect for the summer too, I sized up to a 22 in this so it would be looser and a little longer. what surprised me is that under the long frill it's actually off the shoulder sleeves! 

I finished the look with this fabulous necklace I picked up at the weekend from a tacky and I mean that in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE jewellery shop which is in Albert Dock in Liverpool. They have so much bling and it's all covered in sparkles and big plastic jewels, I love it! I decided to pop my hair up (another rarity for me as I feel it can make my face look ever bigger) a size swept fringe and lashing of red lipstick and eyeliner to define my eyes.

Stripes and Circle Skirts.

The lovely Isha from An Autmns Grace snapped these for me very quickly after an event what seems like forever ago! And surprisingly I kind of love them, usually I'm pretty critical with the shots that make it on here but we were having such a giggle and I think that really shows! I know I've been a little quiet on the outfit posts front over the last month or so but I'm hoping that will soon change! I've decided even if it's just a quick phone selfie of an outfit if I love it I'll post it up on here for you all to see! 

This was worn for an event in London and on the train for hours (the first of which will be featured on the blog very soon!) I love this skirt and it still makes me extremely happy that if I can't find exactly what I'm after in the shops now I can just whip something up for myself! I wore a cheap petticoat from eBay under the skirt just to give it even more volume! Since these were taken I've had my hair cut to a shoulder length bob style as I'd gotten to the stage where I just needed it cutting drastically to breath some life back into my hair! The top is rather old from Asos Curve but something I surprisingly get a lot of wear from. However I did have to order it in a size above my usual so the arms are a little loose!

Don't ask me what's going on in the middle image, there was a worse one but my expression was even worse!

I'M BACCCCCKKKKKK!

Apologies about the accidental hiatus on the blog! After going on holiday and then plannings for Twinwood at work and spending a fair bit of time looking after my neighbour and his dog Benji (and of course a little uni work) I seem to have been away from A rose like this since the end of July and actually a whole month since today! I had a lovely holiday and Twinwood went very well though we had one day of virtually none stop rain, it is British weather after all! 

I've got lots of fabulous posts in the pipeline and I'm hoping to get one or two up before Plus North this weekend (who else is as excited as me?!) then I'll get lots more ready for the following week then I'm back to my foundation degree to finish my second year (and have to decide what my plan will be for the future, gulp!) I'm hoping to get my blogging mojo back in full force as I've also filmed a few, pretty awful videos to restart my love of youtube and vlogging so hopefully you'll be seeing me updating a little more in the coming months, all I can promise is that I'll try my best!

Your Lipstick Stain is a Work of Art.

I finally feel like I've gotten my blogging mojo back and I couldn't be happier in that respect! So here I am with another outfit post featuring an oldie but a goodie, I utterly love this playsuit but for some reason it only ever used to come out in the winter when I could wear it with tights but I've decided enough is enough and this summer I'm going to try and get more wear out of my playsuits sans tights! This last week I've been helping my old high school with their performance of Grease and I spent a whole say in a vest top with my arms out and nothing bad happened, so with this in mind I'm going try and get more flesh out (tastefully of course!) 

I decided to go a little retro with a matte red lip, which is my lesser worn Lady Danger, I prefer this for sunny days as it's brighter than my staple Ruby Woo. the newest edition to this which I only got a week ago is this amazing satchel from Zatchels, I'll hopefully do a proper post on this soon but I just couldn't wait to show you! I actually visited their factory and head office in Leicester last year and I've been obsessed ever since after seeing how much goes into making them! So when they had the huge flash sale last week I decided to make an investment. My dad was actually nice enough to (massively) help me out with this so I could have the back straps added. I can't wait to pair this with all my circle skirts and pretty dresses! I also went with my fab red converse to tie all the look together.

 

Apologies about the dire state of my hair! It needs cutting desperately and I'm itching for a change but after my traumatic fringe trim experience of November 2013... I've been avoiding the hairdressers like the plague!

Hanging on the Telephone.

I took these photos a few weeks ago back when we had glorious sunshine (which wasn't too warm) as now as I look out the window it's bucketing it down with rain! I decided to co ordinate my fab new phone case, which I was wondering whether I could class as a piece of designer as I doubt I'll EVER own anything else with Kate Spades name on! I brought out the pink sides of the case with the amazing lips on this shirt! I picked this up in the main range from Asos when they has 25% student discount on, I didn't really think it would fit me but surprise, surprise it actually did. I'm obsessed with the print and can't wait to pair it with a cute skirt when the sunshine is here to stay.

I paired this with my ankle grazer ( full length on me because I'm a short arse) jeans from Asos Curve and cheap and cheerful accessories. I slicked on my usual red lip but used Bourjois velvet lipsticks, which I can't remember if I've mentioned previously but I LOVE THEM and now need ALL the colours of the rainbow! I've not had my hair cut properly since before Christmas so it's the longest it's been in awhile. With this and the sunshine in mind I tied it up in a high pony and a scrunchie (oh so nineties). My blog posts may be a little sporadic for the next few weeks as I've got my final brief of my first year looming and have a lot of sewing and sketchbook work before it's done, then our fashion show which 2 pieces I've already made will be featured along side the two full outfits I'm currently creating! Eeeek busy, busy!

I loved this look, so maybe I should accessorise my clothes with my phone cases more often?!

Victoria Baths.

These are just a few snaps I took when I attended the Vintage Homeshow at Victoria Baths a few weeks ago, due to the weather that day it ended up being freezing in the building and I probably should have worn a jumper. We did however still manage to stop for ice cream on the drive home! I was quite restrained this time round and myself only bought a picture framed and a tin wall hanging for my bedroom, my dad actually came away with more bits and bobs! You may have noticed that Victoria Baths is one of my favourite places to go (I've done a fair few blog posts including it over the years) I just think it's the perfect backdrop for photographs and I hope to do some shoots there in the future!

So onto my clothes, I'M ACTUALLY WEARING JEANS!!! After what seems like an eternity saying I'd probably never find jeans I liked on me, I've been proven wrong. They're not perfect as they cut in a little but with some more wear they should be fine. These are the Asos Curve ankle grazers but due to my lack of height they're actually the perfect length on me, only downside being I have epic muffin top with them which I've disguised with this pretty little top, which after a long time of hunting down on eBay etc the lovely Claire from French for Cupcake offered to sell me hers which she'd hardly worn! You can't see on these awkward photos (my mum took them and I was worrying people would walk in and wonder what she was doing) but it has the loveliest scalloped collar.

I'm off to a vintage fair I've never been to next weekend and I have to admit I am really rather excited!

Currently Coveting.

It's been awhile since I last did a Currently Coveting post but I've decide in 2014 I wish to make it a more regular appearance as I always like to see what other people are lusting for to be part of there wardrobe!

I'm also planning to take more opportunities blog wise with my photographs and to stop being so worried 

about posing in public as otherwise I hardly get any posts up (you can see how much I was lacking towards the end of 2013!) 

I saw this adorable playsuit on Asos this evening when  doing my frequent (Okay lets face it, pretty much daily) scope of the new bits and bobs on the Curve page. I'm a huge fan of playsuits and there is something that is pulling me towards this little beauty. Maybe it's the buttons, the comfortable and relatively crease free jersey or most probably all of the above and more! It could be dressed up or down but still look cute and smart. The buttons could be undone with a cami under for a new look, worn with tights or without over a swimming costume on a beach or with a fur collar and leather jacket. The possibilities are endless! Though granted I'm mostly just talking myself in to buying it even more than I already had!

For me Asos get clothes right every time and the majority of my wardrobe is either from there main range or Curve. The only downside being sometimes the clothing can be a little sporadic and odd with sizing's.

Rain Coat.

The lovely people over at Bonmarche asked if I'd like to review an item from there new pieces what seemed like an age ago now but due to work, my new degree course and Loss of camera and equipment it's taken me a good while to get the post up and for that I can't apologise enough. At the moment everything is still settling so my posts are becoming pretty sporadic but please do stick with me, I'll be back on a more regular basis soon I hope!

I've been looking for a practical yet cute and classic rain coat for quite some time! It needed to be something that still suited my style but also worked well for Girl Guiding too and I think this jacket has hit the nail on the head perfectly! The only downside to this for me is that I think it runs a little small as I can do it up but wouldn't be able to get many layers under neath, If I was going to order again I'd probably consider sizing up personally. As you can see I actually got to test it out weather wise as when I was shooting these the heavens opened and I have to say it stood pretty well with the sudden downpour!

So cute, pretty comfy and easy to throw on or carry around. Over all top points for practicality! I finished this with my cute printed dress from New Look inspire which is really short but I can just get away with it when I wear tights and my usual red lipstick! Have you ever thought of checking out Bonmarche before now? I know as a 20 year old alot of people wouldn't think of it as there first port of call but they have some stunning pieces in this season including the fabulous David Emanuel classics.

Hearts and Heritage.

Just a quick post from me as I got my lovely friend Jess to snap these for me super quickly on my iPhone while we were at the Gallery of Costume at Platfields in Manchester (if you're interested in clothes from all era's I'd say it's a must see and free!) We'd also spent the morning doing some market research which entailed for me to be like a ninja in The Kooples trying to get some photographs!

I wanted to be comfortable as I knew I'd be standing and wandering around all day. I didn't quite bank on how warm it would be though and ended up dying alive in my jacket but due to the fabric of the top I had to keep it on as the shirt had creased so badly! I will one day try and look less awkward in photographs people have taken for me, I worry I look weird posing but gotta take opportunities of pretty hallways or changes to my brick wall when I can! I do love this shirt though and I sized up so it would be longer in the body meaning I could wear leggings with it. Talking of leggings just in case I haven't said this before these Excite Clothing ones are to die for thick, comfortable and keep there shape well, extremely impressed!

Apologies that I seem to have lost my blogging mojo lately. Not only with starting a new course again and being at work I've also got costumes for 2 upcoming shows to think about so my mind is quite jumbled! I'm hoping in the next week or so I can managed to get some looks shot as I have so many fabulous things to show you!

Flower Arranging.

What now seems like forever ago I got a lovely DIY Flower Box from The Great British Florist and thought it would be the perfect thing to give to my mum for her flower arranging which I also help her with.
We got a glorious box full of flowers within a day of ordering and decided to make something up for the alter at church, my mums on the router so she does a month at a time. Due to how insanely warm it's been over the last few weeks they weren't overly perky when we managed to open the box mostly due to them being left in the box half the day as I was at work.

All we added to the DIY set was some greenery and a few other flowers to add some more depth to the colours.The pictures were taken just after we'd finished it and some of the Lillie's were unfortunately still closed but after a vigorous spraying with water and being left over night they were fully open in all there glory for the church service the next morning!

I think packs such as these are perfect for the budding florist in you but if your not so kindly green fingered they could throw you slightly as how to put them together! Though this is something I'll definitely think about getting my mum one of these again as it certainly adds much more choice to the flower options she normally has for our church arrangements! And of course the obglitatory awkward photo of a slightly sweaty me with the flowers, they almost match my dress thank you Asos Curve!

Fat Girl In A Crop Top!

So there has been a bit of fat hate flying around the Internet today so I thought it was about time to pop up these pictures of me in a crop top to show I don't care! Crop tops are currently my fave things ever at the moment, from fitted to loose fit, long sleeved to short I love them all. This Primark number has been worn to death already and for £3.50 I see it as a bargain (ps it washes really well too!) Also I realise there is more pictures than what I normally upload but I was feeling fierce and vain all at the same time!

Styling a crop like this is a safe way to wear the style without feeling too self conscious about it all... Lets be honest I'm so pale that it just looks like a belt! I feel like this will become my new go to for when I want to feel confident along with my usual slick of red lipstick! Jersey skirts are another of my favourites, easy to wear time and time again And the print on this one just makes it more interested and perfect. In my eyes nothing beats being quirky.

Some of you may love this others of you may think I'm insane and that's up to you but currently in myself and at this moment in time I want to push the boundaries within in wardrobe and a little bit of my middle being on show is the start next step high waisted fatkini! And yes I am just casually dancing in the third picture, just loving life to be honest!

FFF Oversized and Comedy Night.

It's time yet again for another Fat Fabulous Four challenge This time were tackling oversized! I own quite alot of oversized tee's as I find them more comfortable and easy to wear. I wore this outfit out on Thursday night to go to Mulligans Irish Bar for The Monday Club comedy night Featuring the likes of Dean Smith his lovely sister Hannah and a number of guys and gals from north west shows like Hollyoaks, Corrie and Waterloo Road. (it's usually on a Monday...) with fellow blogger babe Charl of Ginger Girls Says it was our second date at Mulligans and was just as funny as the first one, though a little less crowded as Nico Mirallegro wasn't gracing the evening with his presence which meant less screaming teenage girls.

I wanted to be comfortable as I'd been feeling ill for most of the day. I also decided to go against that one fashion rule of not wearing leggings with tee's but I hope I got away with it as I always wear them with an oversized top half and very thick leggings, which are my adorable ones from my previous post! My finishing touches were my trusty pleather jacket, cute flats a patent red bag (not pictured) and this lovely necklace from Claire's Accessories! I know it used to be the place we'd all go for our scene kid gear, boy headband anyone? But they genuinely have some really pretty necklaces I made the chain longer for this one, which has a soppy quote about love on it! I decided taking these snaps on the virtually empty train home was a good idea so we did, We were all kinds of ghetto fabulous that night it has to be said!
