This is the first of a number of posts about my foundation degree first year fashion show! Yes it's true I made it through first year, not exactly with flying colours as I've certainly had a few bumps along the way but ultimately grown as a fashion design student with great thanks to the great team my college/uni has (Huge thanks to them for letting me do plus size fashion and for helping me so much with all the challenges that come along with creating plus size garments)

These are all made to fit my own body which is roughly a UK size 20. Both pieces could fit a number of sizes though due to style and cut of the garments. I had a mini collection and these two pieces in the show which meant I needed two models, luckily I was able to model myself and I sweet talked my dear friend Elly into modelling alongside me. Though next year I could need up to six and I won't be able to model myself... eeek! These pieces were made for two separate briefs one of which you can see I did a photoshoot for here.

I hope you enjoy the little snippets of my degree as I plan to have regular posts up in the future on projects and research I'm doing!

We're just the same, we all get desperate sometimes, feeling black and blue.

This is Paloma Faith's 3rd(?) single of her second album and I genuinely love the whole thing! Obviously I've blogged a number of times about this girl because I do have a massive crush on her, in fact if you feel the need to us together (yes that happened) you can see it here. I'm also obsessed with Paloma's tattoos on her back which in my eyes are artwork. But anyway I could just talk for hours about her face, let's be honest!

I've had to watch this video twice to realise that Paloma is most of the characters ( I still can't decide if she's actually the bloke or not...) It's just so beautiful and simply which for someone who is as mental as Paloma is something fresh. Another thing I love about her is that she always sings from the heart and each of her own songs will have a genuine story behind it and I think it's really important to have a connection to a song or the lyrics if you want to sing it to it's full potential.

This is just a short post to show you a video I'm loving and it feels I haven't done a music post for awhile. I actually had to restrain myself from posting the photo's from when I saw Justin Bieber... I kind of still want to though. Tomorrow I'm going back to my old College to do a talk all about blogging, exciting and a little scary! I'll let you all know how I get on!

Prom.

These are just a few pictures from my friends 6th form leavers prom I attended on Wednesday evening. I felt a little messy because I'd rushed from college, but it was all fine in the end. I don't want to bore you with to much babbling but I'll just say I had a lovely night and ended up walking home from a friends party at 5.30 this morning, I also meant to get some outfit pictures I did but a lot of light flooded in so I don't know how good they'll look but I shall upload them regardless. I have to say one of the best things about last night was seeing all my friends and just thinking how much we've grown in the past few years, especially as I've been at college so I haven't seen them all on a daily basis for a long time its much more noticeable to me. Were all going to uni or moving on to something new and different, but I know we'll all be able to meet up once in a while and it will just all fit into place.

Tomorrow is my last official day in college as a student how scary is that! Two years have definitely gone quickly, I can't quite believe I could possibly be going to uni, its terrifying!

And lastly may I just reassure you by saying I was not tipsy in any of these pictures......

Okay so this isn't the most exciting outfit in the world but it seems to be another staple of mine, which is stripes. I will always automatically gravitate towards them when I'm shopping just ask my friend I'll go up to a top in a store and be like "ohh I like this!" her answer will then be "it is because its got stripes on?" I don't know if this makes me predictable or just boring but I will alwats wear stripes. I know people used to often say fatter people shouldn't wear stripes as they make you look wider? well personally I think that is total bollocks.

This kind of look is what I will generally wear for college or just on a day to day basis,I wore this to college on Thursday and yes here our my jeggings from New Look making a second appearance, if anything as much as I love how they look now I will be forever pulling them up.
The tunic top is really old and was from New Look when I was about 12 or 13? But I wear it all the time even though its slowly becoming a little worn and holey. My cardigans from Dorothy Perkins I also own the same one in black and royal blue. The shoes you met in my post a few days ago, I'm just getting used to wearing them again after my other pair went to shoe heaven. My necklace is also from Evans and was purchased in the sale, I love how it just has a lovely vintage look.

Now you may notice I'm wearing glasses again in this outfit post, these are actually my new pair and when I first put them on I wasn't sure but they've definitely grown on me and now I love wearing them, which is a good job as I'm supposed to have them on all the time. These are from Gok Wans range at specsavers but I'll dedicate a proper blog post for them in the next week or two because they deserve to be seen in all there glory. Also in the next few weeks I'm going to be posting some of my final collection and photos from fittings up, just so you know.

And on one last final not here is me and Benji the dog who I walk most days, cheers to my brother for taking these an all.

I know the title doesn't really link to the pictures but I've been listening to Blondie all evening and have developed a hugge girl crush on Debbie Harry. Anyway these photographs were taken when i was out with my friends well these were just before we actually went out but still no matter. Have you noticed? i got my wonderful, wonderful bag! it fits a lot in as well like a normal sized deo bottle and everything ( i know this may sound strange but it was a really warm day)
So black always looks good but on a really warm day you actually feel like your baking, now i know what chickens feel like in ovens. My lace top is from tesco believe it or not and the sleeves are really pretty I'm not sure if you can tell on the images but they are kind of draped quite detailed for a supermarket i thought.
And i have my trusty leggings on from Evans which are the perfect length and so comfortable! Underneath my lace shirt i have a Marks and Spencer's vest on, i kept the look for this very simple because of the bag making such a statement. I also wore some heels which were black with a Lacey patterned finish. I did want to wear my Doc Martins but my friend forced me into my heels which i suppose in the end did look better. My amazing bag was a brilliant eBay find, i knew they no longer sold them in stores and they weren't online so i searched eBay and found a new one which was never used and still had the tags on. In the end including postage i ended up paying a tenner for it but considering it originally retailed at twenty i don't think i did too badly. I had a really fun night after getting lost a few times, haha. It was just some college friends who I've not properly seen since the beginning of summer and now its nearly the end, which is a shame in some ways but super exciting in others.
Do you like my Henry Holland bag? and the all black outfit, tell me what you think, and thank you for reading my posts as always.
