HAPPY NEW YEAR!

These are just a selection of pictures from my lovely friend's party last night, unlike last years I was very, very sober though if it wasn't for my medication I probably wouldn't of been! I spent new years with some of the people I love dearly, all my friends. They all know I blog and tend to have sneaky reads from time to time! In fact the wonderful image of my friend Billy with his mouth open and posing was requested to go up in his slightly drunken state so lets hope hes see's it! I also put a picture in of one of my oldest friend Joe's 3 piece suit he wore, He's got some serious style I'm going to try and badger him next time he's home from Sandhurst to get some pictures of him to put up on here, he dresses so well! The only other pictures of him are from this party so long ago! My friend Becca in the grey dress had the cutest clutch ever so I got a full length shot of her by the tree. It's from Accesorize and was reduced from £22 to £12 I'm going to go and hunt it down for myself it's so beautiful.

This year with my outfit was a little more out of my comfort zone than what I would of worn a year ago! But who cares I actually felt fine, maybe even great in it! The bra under is a longline from Matalan, I actually love loads of there lingerie lately! I bought the top in the Next sales along with my shoes which I AM IN LOVE WITH and I've been praising them on twitter to! I paired them with a skater skirt from Asos and some tights. Then I wore my trusty red lip stain and matching it to my bra which you a little visible under the top, was that trashy matching them? You know what I don't care I loved it! This is a look I am definitely going to try again which mean you'll probably have lots more posts with visible bra being shown on purpose!

Finally I had to get into there downstairs shower and pretend I was singing into it because that is something I tend to do at house parties! I just realised how picture heavy this post is, I am so sorry but I loved to many of them not to include them! Hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve and Day!

Top/Tunic: New Look (no longer in store)

Okay so this isn't something I can currently get in the shops at the moment but I've been desperate for it since I first saw it on a blogger what seems like years ago! It's only from the main section in New Look so the biggest size its in is an 18 but I don't care as I'm sure I'd be able to squeeze into it!

I found this one on Ebay and put my bid on it but didn't check back in time and was outbid by 50p! Don't you hate that when your outbid by less than a pound! I really wish I'd put a higher bid on it in the first place,

unfortunately there isn't any other on Ebay at the moment so this is more of a post to see if anyone does have it in an 18 or even a 16 depends on shape/size I might eve get in it, it depends though! 

If you see one online or anywhere PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS I SERIOUSLY WANT THIS TOP OH SO MUCH! 

New Edit- I HAVE THE TOP HOPEFULLY! the lovely claire from French for Cupcake commented and said she has one I could have yayyyy!

Matalan Style Project.

This is the outfit I chose and styled for Matalan's monthly Style Project which is on there blog. The theme was Cyber Jam envision peplums, sequins, studs and space age inspired, from the upcoming Autumn/Winter collections now I'm sure if you've been a follow of my blog for awhile you'll know my style can be a little eclectic so this was definitely a challenge for me, that and the theme was primarily based in Matalan's Be Beau brand which only goes up to a size 18 and in the majority of clothing a size 20 but thankfully over sized is still very much in trend so I actually somehow got everything to fit really well!

I went for plenty of studs and metallic's accents to bring a more textured finish to the complete look. The jumper I really love specially with the detachable peter pan collar (you all know how much of a sucker I am for them). Though I'm actually wearing the jumper back to front so you can see the amazing galaxy print vest under it, and it wouldn't be anything space age without a bit of galaxy print would it now! The leggings I didn't really notice originally but my mum saw them and thought as my wardrobe staple is leggings that these would be a nice alternative and they are still a little different with the flash of PU down the side seams, these are also seriously thick meaning I can wear them as trousers too!

Okay so the shoes need a paragraph all of there own HOW AWESOME ARE THESE BABIES?! and for the princely sum of £14 not bad am I right. I was worried my feet would be to wide for them but surprisingly they are not, I also think they add a rocky edge to the look without being to OTT (meaning I can't walk in heels) so these stand out without me being crippled! The only accessories I added were the stud and pearl bracelet which was a bargain in the sale and the insanely spiky and amazing ring, which is a serious knuckle duster!

My Shirt.

I thought I'd share with you something I've made for one of my subjects at uni, if you follow me on twitter you may of seen me moaning in great detail about this and worrying over my presentation of it but fear not I did it this morning and it went surprisingly well! My tutor had some good points on pieces I'd done wrong but realised so I understood what had happened. This was mainly a learning curve for future reference. So over all feel I did pretty well, my lovely model is my friend Sophie and she's roughly a size 8 and I think the shirt would probably fit up to a size 12 but the arm holes may be tight as they have run slightly small.

Like I said I just wanted to show you because even though last night I was worried it wasn't good enough I am pretty proud of it, just a shame I can't wear it myself! I know I sound like I'm tooting my own horn but how adorable is the collar, I've got quite a lot of binding and polka dot fabric left so I'm thinking of adding the collar detail to a few plain shirts of my own, what do you think of the idea? Or making them on the binding to wear as necklaces, cute idea or not?

You and I ended over U N I.

I'll try and keep this as short and sweet as possible because I'm supposed to be doing a whole list of other things right now! I bought this lovely little top from Primark this week for a fiver which I don't think is too shabby the only thing being that its pretty see through not that I mind all that much! It's also got an adorable scalloped edges on the sleeves and bottom though it does roll up slightly but I do't mind at all. I wore to pop to uni to hand in a project with this dress over which I bought last Christmas in the Evans sale. I think the collar of the top peeping out give a whole new lease of life to the dress and the necklace is like a little hand mirror which I got off a friend for Christmas as she knew how much I've been after one!

I just slapped on a bit of bright pink lippie on so there was a hint of colour to the outfit and my face. I haven't worn my hair like this since the beginning of September so I thought I'd give it ago tonight I wish I wore it like this more as its great for when my hairs just annoying me but I don't want a ponytail swishing around behind my head! I'm also trying to decide what to wear to Ed Sheeran on Friday night (yes I'm VERY excited) so I hope you all look forward to my probably awful pictures of him at the gig! (also this is what my post title is about I'm listening to his album on repeat in preparation!)

Now its time for a group pizza night and giggles with the girls from uni but just before I leave, did anyone else join in the #plussizechat on twitter last night? I actually found it so much fun and it was great to see that so many people agree with you!

Centre parting and polka dots.

Yayyy finally I've got another outfit post up! Sorry I've not been brilliant with them lately its just because I'm not overly keen on my beautiful blue curtain in the background and I have no where else to do them at the moment so here will have to do.

Now this is what I'd like to wear for simply be event next Thursday but unfortunately you can see my belly quite obviously through the jeans and I don't want it to look like bad but I maybe brave and go for it. I actually really like it all together, the top is new from Primark and in my opinion was a little pricey (a tenner) but I loved the polka dots and the collar, very me. the beret is also from Primark and I bought it about 4 years ago but I've worn it almost every Christmas and now my fringe has grown out it even looks okay as a centre parting as long as I have my hat on. The jean leggings (which are okay to wear a trousers unlike normal black leggings!) are from new look inspire and they fit my bum really well but are too big on my waist so the crotch sags sometimes and does not look very good, that and I'm always pulling them up as they fall down when I walk!

So tonight I'm off to see The Risk (they went out of xfactor a week or so ago) I'm pretty exciting as you will all know I do love a good boyband! Me and some girls from uni have also found a house for next year which is exciting not only terrifying!

The little lace collar.

This is one of my first ever reviews and I have the lovely people from Yours to thank for it. Now before I begin I just want to let you all know that on the 1st of march I went to a university interview at De Montfort for Retail Buying in Fashion which means not only would I learn how to advertise pieces and all that jazz but I would not also be able to still make pieces too (which is what I'm glad to say because I would of been gutted if it hadn't involved any garment construction) I got a letter this morning, which took me half an hour to open and when I finally did it had good news! They have in fact offered me a place but I'm still waiting on Leeds College of Art and MMU so nothing solid as of yet! So I'm really giddy today about everything, and I'm also seeing friends from high school later which I'm pretty excited about so all is good today.

So anyway on to my review this is the first of two dresses Yours sent me. And over all I think its a really cute little dress, but there are some issues I find with it. One of these being that the fabric tends to cling to all your lumps and bumps so if your not too into that style (which I am not) I would think about sizing up though then there's a possibility that the sleeves would be too big. Other than this I really love this dress tucked into my shorts so Yours if your reading make a shirt like this, because I love the sleeves and the truly adorable collar! This dress is from Yours limited collection and comes to the price of 35 pounds which for me is a little bit pricey but if it ever goes into the sale I would definitely snap it up and just alter it into a shirt!

While I'm here I just want to say yet again sorry my pictures aren't great I've edited them on photo bucket to give them more vintage shades if that make sense? But I really like how the image of my shoes and bag has come out. The bag is from the 1950s and was my grandmothers and my shoes are from Evans, I wear these with everything from cute little dresses to leggings and shirts.

My next review piece is the animal print peter pan collared tunic which I know has been a big hit in the plus size blogging community and on twitter, and just as a little hint I wore it to the interview and they were impressed.

Sorry it's a little late.

I know I'm such a bad blogger for only just catching up on some of the highlights of London Fashion Week, but better late than never right? I was lucky enough to get emails through with some great videos on so I didn't have to spend forever searching google and YouTube for video's with a range of designers on them. I have to say thank you to Sophie Phythian for contacting me with the video's because now I've found a number of new designers who will now forever be firm favourites. I'm just going to post up a few of my favourite videos from over the past 5 days and ones which have which have caught my eye in general. I'm hoping that I'll have the opportunity to attend London Fashion Week next year (even if its just to meet some new bloggers, or even take some street style photographs).

The whole reason I'm showing you this video is for Charles Anastase whom I've never heard of before but I think his collection is just beautiful and also seemed to be a favourite with the likes of Alexa Chung and Brit Smith Start. Due to the fact I've never heard of him I knew very little about this gentlemen, when you watch the video he talks about the collection and some fabrics he's sourced and he just seems really adorable (yes I know I'm probably supposed to like the collection more because of all the key pieces instead of how nice the designer seems). I did some research on Charles myself, well I say research...I actually just googled him! Did you know he didn't start thinking about being an artist/designer until he embarked upon his career as one in 2002. His captivating and poignant pencil drawings travelled the world in a series of successful exhibitions in Paris, Vienna, Tokyo and Mexico and Charles' work has been published in Dazed and Confused.

Charles' signature silhouettes evoke a naivety but yet are executed with the precision of the tailors of Savile Row. Chic and conservative yet playful and I believe this is what his collection does portray with the little peter pan collars and jumpsuits. For his A/W collection 2011 Charles has stuck to heavy fabrics in damp English colours as well as touching the British heritage trend by using a beautiful powder pink fabric from Alexanders of Scotland but with his thrown in with these vivid reds and oranges stops it from just looking an overly feminine colour. From his collection I can already see there will be a fair few high street copies but none will be quite as exquisite as Charles nor have the same artist flare which you can see I never piece as it gracefully trotted (due to those insanely high shoes) down the catwalk. If I haven't mentioned my favourites yet I'll mention them now, I always seem to gravitate towards peter pan collars and velvet so from the video you can already tell that its perfect for me.

There were two pieces with peter pan collars that really caught my eye. One being the burnt coloured jumpsuit and I think it was in velvet to which makes it even more beautiful and the jewel encrusted collared dress, which looked stunning on the dress without looking to "done".

The velvet dress with sheer sleeves is also a piece I can imagine will be copied by the high-street a number of times but none will be as heartbreakingly delicate. Overall I'm so glad I've found the beautiful creation that is Charles Anastase.
