Almost Lady Like?

I don't think I'll ever be properly lady like but this has got to be close? I mean I've got a pretty head piece on and heels! (These were a pretty wonderful bargain only £5.00 the fact I can't walk in them for more than 10 minutes is irrelevant) The veil is something I actually forgot I owned, I'd packed it away at the bottom of my scarf draw for costumes or shoots in the future but I've actually decided that I'm going to have a go at wearing it out at some point (sans the bow on the side!) The dress is a firm favourite of mine during the cooler weather, the fabric in this heat isn't ideal I was soon boiling alive in it but I'm an overly warm person anyway!

Now onto the Jive Seamed Tights I was kindly sent these by the lovely people at Pamela Mann and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, I've read reviews in the past that haven't been overly positive but I actually really like the quality of these tights and how comfortable they were. There is one rather large problem with these though, I'm wearing a UK size 28 -32 in these tights which personally I have no problem sizing up but I know readers of my blog who are a UK size 24+ these tights could potentially disappoint primarily due to the sizing issue, for reference I'm generally a UK dress size 20. Other than this they were a joy to wear and I can't wait to style them up for some vintage events I'll be attending over the summer! I've never worn seamed tights before and though they were a little fiddly for me to get them straight (and I know they still aren't entirely straight in the photos) I love how they finish a look!

Spring Time Wellies.

I don't know about you but I've never been a massive fan of wellies, probably because I couldn't get cute one that would fit around my calves or fit my wide feet. In fact I recall having some tops of wellies when I was younger being slit down the back so I could get my legs in! But in the last 2 years I've found the joy that is Jileon Wellies who sent me a pair to try in November 2012 (check that post out here) which I loved back then but they have come on leaps and bounds since then! They were lovely enough to offer me the opportunity to review there new style and I'm genuinely blown away! 

 The buckles are perfect they actually lock so they don't come undone as you walk which ones in the past have. On where the clasp is for the buckle and cord it can't fall out all together which is another well thought out feature, having them made our of fabric instead of the rubber of the wellie has worked out perfectly. They're also insanely comfortable because they actually fit my feet so I don't get aching soles after wearing them for a few hours. These are almost closed on me and they fit up to a 53cm calf so would be perfect for all manner of calves. So not only are these practical and fit wonderfully but they're also really pretty, I adore the ditsy print of the flowers and the fact it doesn't cover the whole boot makes it easier to match with clashing prints and this time I wore them with this cute polka dot get up, red lips (which I'm rarely without) and my lovely vintage hairstyle, which is thanks to the lovely Nancy and I'll be showing you more snaps from this soon! This was slept on hair as well, super impressed! Back to the Wellies, I'd recommend Jileon to anyone with wide calves, I love these so much that I'm seriously lusting over this second pair!

Pretty Me Retro?

What seems like forever ago I was sent this darling dress from Tesco as unfortunately the original dress I opted for which was beautiful was tiny and when I managed to exchange it said dress was sold out! This dress is something I wouldn't normally go for as it's straight up and down and sleeveless but the pretty pastel colour and adorable detailing with the lace won me over! I love the colour and feel of the fabric it doesn't feel like that uncomfortable and slightly sweat material the lining is what seems to be cotton (YAY!) and it's something you could wear on the hottest day, quite like the last few days and still feel okay. Sleeveless is something I fear over as I'm always paranoid about my upper arms but this year I say no more! If it's warm I shall have them out as sometimes a misshapen cardigan can completely ruin an otherwise lovely outfit! Here I paired it with a denim jacket purely because I liked how it looked and when I took these it wasn't 26 degree's!

I felt like channelling my more retro look with this quirky scarf tied in my hair and a backcombed ponytail behind it. I've not done my hair like this for so long that I can't decide if it still suits me or not! Don't get me wrong I love the scarf in hair look but I'm not sure as to whether my heavy fringe now makes it a little too much. I finished the look with my usual red lipstick and I was good to go, I really hope you don't tire of my red lipstick obsession but I just feel right with a cherry coloured tiny on my lips! I decided to face my fears and wear this out in public... I did feel a little OTT for the supermarket but I didn't get too many odd looks so I may try this again!

FFF - "We go from green to blue to gold to black"

It's time yet again for another Fat Fabulous Four challenge and this time were taking on stripes, which are a firm favourite in my wardrobe! When I'm out shopping they're something I'm naturally drawn to and always pick up. I know some people would say that stripes aren't very flattering on a plus size figure but in all honestly I couldn't care less I love wearing them and that's all that matters! This dress is a midi dress from Matalan but I've altered it as being a short arse means they're far to long on me as they are and I prefer a higher hemline so I can wear them with leggings. Denim jacket from one of my firm favourite stores M&Co, so often my friends don't believe me when I say what I'm wearings from there. I think sometimes people think it's somewhere mothers or grandmothers shop at when in reality they have some adorable vintage inspired and trend lead pieces. 

Some of my accessories are from good old Peacocks, I simply adore this belt I picked it up last weekend. The colours and easy feel to it make it perfect for this summer, it also matches my super old and battered flats also from Peacocks. I found this really cute box bag in an adorable vintage styled shop in my hometown, I've walked past and looked in the window so many times but never actually been in until today and lets just say I could buy the whole place out, it's so pretty and surprisingly for that kind of thing really well priced. I finally finished the look with my usual red lipstick and crontic bitch face!

Galaxy Defenders Stay Forever.

I got sent this lovely galaxy print dress way back when by the lovely people at Label PR/Simply Be. It's something in the past I'd definitely shy away from it being a maxi dress and colourful but I adored the print so much I though it was worth a try! Surprisingly I really liked it on me, the only downsides being that it is to long but what else were flatforms made for! Also it's very snug under your arms I'm wearing my usual size which is a 20.

he fabric is comfortable and doesn't seem to crease much (which is a massive plus for me) and of course the print is insanely amazing, I've been obsessed with galaxy print for ages and I was just so happy to find something with it in a plus size store! I feel this could be dressed up or down but I quite like it for a more snazzy occasion, in fact I have a few weddings coming up in the not so distant future and I think this will work perfectly for one of them! When I took these pictures it was still really nippy so I paired it with an old bolero and added some detail to the waistband with this cute little belt.

I decided on something a little different when it came to my hair and make up, gone is my usual red lip and here it is replaced with Rimmel Apocolips in Stella which is a lovely almost pinky colour unfortunately it hasn't been picked up in the photographs. I decided to shove (technical term) my hair into a messy knot with some pieces framing my face, I don't tend to wear it up very often as I'm worried it makes my face even bigger but never mind I didn't call my twitter Rosieroundface for nothing! And yes my title is from McFly's classic Star Girl, I couldn't help myself!

Plus Size Work Wear Challenge - 2 in 1!

This is my #PSWorkwear challenges Week 2 and 3 as due to having a procedure last week and it taking a long time to feel even half like myself (which I still don't) the thought of trying to get in front of the camera wasn't a nice one, so I hope you all forgive me! Our second challenge was "Pencil Skirt or Pussy Bow" and our third was "Out Of Your Comfort Zone".

So as you u can just about see I went for Pussy bow for the first part challenge as I've had this shirt for a long time but constantly put off wearing it. I can't decide if it was due to the colour or how I bought a size up and it's too big really but it's so comfortable and will be lovely for work with jeggings and converse once it isn't freezing cold! Now for the second part the whole outfit is something that is/was out of my comfort zone back when I started this blog. I never used to wear bright colours or coats in any colour other than back either. The pinafore is new and something I love and have wanted in my wardrobe for ages ( thank you primark!) but I feel again I should of sized down to and 18 in this as it's pretty stretchy and quite baggy. It's also in need of altering because of me being short so it fits a little better thankfully this is something I can do easily!

While I was at it I thought I'd take some pictures with my glasses on for a change, after breaking my beloved Gok Wan frames (sob) I'm back to my back up pair I got to review last year. I do genuinely need glasses to see with on a daily basis unfortunately they also look like "geek glasses" so I often get asked if I actually need them or just wear them to look cool. I know I've been very unorganised with these challenge posts but I was never one to stick to timetables so I am trying to keep it up but I struggle to get pictures quite often! Ps, sorry about the dodgy smiling, best from a bad bunch!
