Feeling Classy with Lindy Bop.

Oh god I'm just so in love with the Renee Rose Print Twin Set! I just had to announce it before I discuss this beauty in more detail with you. I've been a fan of Lindy Bop for a number of years now specially as I love the vintage look but unfortunately can rarely find reproduction items in my size and to fit my price range.  I also know that I can find pieces at Lindy Bop that will subtly nod to my vintage tastes for my day to day wear as well as pieces like this Twin Set which help me feel like I'm ready for a 1950s prom! Speaking of proms I wish I'd had somewhere like Lindy Bop that I could have turned to at the age of 15 to find a prom dress so I didn't end up in the whole black floor length dress I did go in! 

Now you know my love of roses so it should be no surprise why I love the print so much. The fabric is also very comfortable to wear, I was worried that the lining may have been a unbreathable fabric which would make wearing this for any long periods of time a problem but I'm so happy that this isn't the case! My only issue with this set is the sizing. Now generally speaking I'm a solid UK20 in modern clothes so to speak but when it comes to Vintage reproduction I almost always need to size up to a UK22 however when I got this dress in the post in the size 22 I could get in it but I could not breath at all to the point I was fearing that I'd have to spend the rest of my days in this dress (can't help being a little dramatic I'm afraid!) but luckily swapping sizes wasn't an issue so here I'm wearing the UK24 and it fits me like a glove. Though unfortunately this does mean that the UK26 would probably only fit a UK22/24 at a push. I did find that the jacket is a little big in this size but not massively so. I've also taken up the straps but this is only due to the fact I have a really short body and isn't a problem for me at all! 

I hen decided that this dress deserved my full vintage glam look so I set my hair, which I've since has cut so holds the curl much better. Donned my cat eye and false lashes along with my usual red lipstick and felt utterly lovely! I kept my accessories pretty minimal with an old Topshop Necklace, my red next clutch bag (which unfortunately doesn't hold a lot but brought out the red roses beautifully) and my newest shoes which I picked up from the charity shop for a bargain! I love this so much that I'm planning to wear it to an upcoming wedding and take my jersey bolero just for when it gets chilly in the evening!

Poppy Lovely with Voodoo Vixen.

I'm so happy I've finally had chance to take some photographs of this stunning dress that was sent to me by the babes at Voodoo Vixen. The weather among other things in life put getting these snaps on hold until recently! Sometimes I do wish I had somewhere other than our garden to take my blog photos unfortunately it's just that and a tripod for me! 

Anyway onto the dress I absolutely adore this dress from the cut to the beautiful scalloped edging on the sleeves and neckline, it's such a darling dress. As normally it's a little too long for my short body but that is something I can easily amend myself and it isn't a fault with the dress just that all the women in my family are vertically challenged! Other than that the dress fits me really well and has a slight stretch in the fabric which very Voodoo Vixen dress I've tried has, making it hug the figure really well. The cardigan I also love and finishes the look really well but also looks so cute on it's own with a pair of jeans rolled up with my converse and a hair scarf! I kept my accessories simple with flat flats and and old classic necklace I've had for a few years from Topshop. I'm also attempted to grow out my fringe but it's in that really annoying stage where I want to cut it again so please bare with me while it looks a mess for the next few weeks!

Lace and Suede with New Look Inspire.

I'M BACK! Sorry I've been so quiet lately but a lot of things have been going on that I just couldn't put into written words but I'm hoping I can make a little catch up video soon so explain all. 

Anyway I've been wanting to post about this cute as hell look for what feels like forever but I've only just had chance to properly sit down where I felt like writing again. New Look Inspire were kind enough to send me a whole bag of treats back at the end of September and the stunning bralette and skirt were two of the pieces and originally I wasn't sure how to style them but I'm really glad they work so well together. Also sorry about the creases in the skirt I wasn't sure how or whether to iron it and my mum wasn't in to ask when I was taking the photos, but it still looks cute right?! 

Here in the skirt I'm wearing a UK20 I'd say it's true to size but snug so if you'd wish to wear it lower on your waist than I have you may wish to try the size up to see. It's not the shortest skirt I've ever worn but it's also not the longest as I stand at around 5'2 the skirt hits the bottom of my thighs, as you can see in the photos by catching a glimpse of the bottom of my tattoos. For me this isn't a problem at all but I know if you're taller it may be something to keep in mind! The bralette I'm wearing in either 1XL or 2XL and I utterly adore this, it's something I've worn numerous times already for either a night out with a backless jumper or just lazing around my room because it makes me feel almost a little bit sexy and that's no bad thing in my book! It's not overly supportive so when I've worn it out I have worn a bra under it just for my own peace of mind!

Getting Curvety.

I took these photos only a few days ago yet it feels forever since it was sunny, I suppose we should get used to it now summer is fading! Anyway I digress when the fabulous team over at Curvety got in touch with me to ask if I'd like to review something from them I just couldn't refuse! Lately I've been wondering at my wardrobe whether I should include some more grown up and timeless items into it and I knew this Igigi Angie Dress would be a perfect addition. It still has an interesting print which you must know by now I'm always fond of but it's a little more classy and well timeless, the tie sleeve details also add some extra cuteness without being OTT. But what really won it for me was the fitted v-neck and the overall cut of the dress itself. It's fully lined and extremely well made but as it's not the cheapest dress on earth I'd certainly expect nothing less. My only slight negative is that the dress is pretty snug and though I'm perfectly comfortable wearing the UK20 here I think if anyone is more insecure about lumps and bumps being on show I'd recommend sizing up. 

I decided to keep it classy with the rest of the styling and had my hair in loose 1940esque waves with a little hair flower to complete the ribbon in my chain necklace. I thought this dress deserved some form of heel so I added some of my favourite wedges which I also have in black! Occasion Wear Challenge with Curvissa.

Curvissa recently got in touch to ask if I'd like to style up one of their occasion wear pieces and I couldn't say no to the Leaf Print Tea Dress! It's been on my radar for quite sometime as I simply adore the monochrome with the flash of vibrant flowers at the bottom. The Dress itself is really good quality and is currently on sale for £49.00 which I think is the going kind of rate for a pretty dress for a wedding or party. It's also partially lined at the top, I know sometimes people prefer something to be fully lined but generally speaking I prefer them not to be so I can have the option of wearing a petticoat under. My only issue with the dress itself really is the sizing. Here I'm wearing a UK20 which does fit but only just, generally speaking I often size up with Curvissa as I think they run a little small sometimes. I'm also only 5'2 so its a little long in the body for me but nothing a was it belt wouldn't fix!

Due to it being a little snug I decided to wear my cheap corset over the top! Originally I was going to wear it underneath but I thought it would make it look a little different on top and I actually really like how the look has turned out! I then picked out the vibrant pink colour within the flowers to match my lips and heart shaped bag which I then accessorised with my heart necklace. I popped a pair of subtle glitzy flats on as if you're at something all day and wearing a corset I'd probably choose flats for a little more comfort! 

Overall I'd give this dress a 4 out of 5 stars as other than the fit issue on me it's a wonderfully made garment that I feel wouldn't look dated easily and would last a good while too!

Ditsy Prints with Scarlett and Jo.

The lovely ladies over at Scarlett and Jo also sent me this pretty little tunic along with the Powerfit dress I reviewed here.  Unfortunately this specific tunic is no longer on the Evans site but was when I first drafted this post you can get the same style and cut but in this sweet feather print on this link.

As you can see this is a tunic but as I'm only 5'2 I can just get away with wearing it as a mini style dress and I actually really love it this way! The back is also a little like a dipped hem so it does completely cover your bum with length to space on me which is always a comforting thought! Now I'm a little more confident with my body I don't feel so worried about flashing my legs bare or in tights, so I plan to a lot more in the future! The fabric of this is in a stretch jersey and the most darling ditsy print which have a vintage flare to it of which you know I'm a huge fan of! Not only is this comfortable but it's also fits really well as in my experience all Scarlett and Jo pieces do. the 3/4 sleeve is something I also like on a dress as even though I'm more much confident than I used to be I do still feel a little self conscious over my arms so they're a lovely edition. However I don't tend to go for v neck pieces very often as I sometimes don't feel they really suit me but I'm surprised with how much I like this. I've also worn it a number of times as just a top tucked into a skirt with a vest top underneath. I just finished the look with a cute heart shaped necklace I got last year from Topshop and one of the coolest bags I own, I always seem to pick up a bag or two each year in the accessorise sale and this on is certainly a winner!

As you can see I've got nothing but glowing words for this lovely little tunic and honestly don't think I've ever had a bad word to say about a Scarlett and Jo piece they always come up trumps for me! So what are your favourite pieces from Scarlett & Jo's current collection?

Stripes and Circle Skirts.

The lovely Isha from An Autmns Grace snapped these for me very quickly after an event what seems like forever ago! And surprisingly I kind of love them, usually I'm pretty critical with the shots that make it on here but we were having such a giggle and I think that really shows! I know I've been a little quiet on the outfit posts front over the last month or so but I'm hoping that will soon change! I've decided even if it's just a quick phone selfie of an outfit if I love it I'll post it up on here for you all to see! 

This was worn for an event in London and on the train for hours (the first of which will be featured on the blog very soon!) I love this skirt and it still makes me extremely happy that if I can't find exactly what I'm after in the shops now I can just whip something up for myself! I wore a cheap petticoat from eBay under the skirt just to give it even more volume! Since these were taken I've had my hair cut to a shoulder length bob style as I'd gotten to the stage where I just needed it cutting drastically to breath some life back into my hair! The top is rather old from Asos Curve but something I surprisingly get a lot of wear from. However I did have to order it in a size above my usual so the arms are a little loose!

Don't ask me what's going on in the middle image, there was a worse one but my expression was even worse!

Rogers & Rogers for Matalan.

The Fab team over at Matalan were nice enough to offer me a chance to try out a garment from the refreshed collection on offer from there plus size range Rogers & Rogers. If you check out the collection the majority is trusty pieces you can wear time and time again and be reworked in your wardrobe for more than one season. Two of my favourite pieces along with the top I'm wearing and the dress in the same print (nothing beats a cute daisy print!) are This fab striped jumper and adorable floral kimono. At the moment

nothing in the range is over £20 so it's equally fabulous value. 

The main reason I choose this top is due to the print as I thought it would be perfect for Spring/Summer, had short sleeves so I wouldn't feel to uncomfortable with my arms being out too much and finally because it , looked long enough to cover my crotch meaning I could wear my beloved leggings as trousers! The only worry I had with this top that whether the cut of the hem would look good on me but I actually love it! I was also curious how the draped fabric which cascades down the front would look and whether it would be over powering but again I was impressed with the over all look! I finished the look with a coloured lip, which isn't red for once! My fab hair piece from Wonderland Wigs because it saves my life when my hairs at it's current awkward stage (read: hides my split ends) and my insanely awesome boots which I've hardly worn enough! 

I actually wore this outfit sans the hair piece and swapping my boots for converse for a day at the Safari Park for one of my best friends 21st's and I can vouch that this top is incredible easy to wear, comfortable and most importantly I still felt good in it!
