Lipstick Loving with Lovedrobe.

Before I type anything else I just want to say I LOVE THIS TOP/TUNIC! 

the print is my ultimate dream, I'm sure you're all aware by now that I'm more than a little addicted to lipstick and any print related to it and this is to die for. So when Lovedrobe asked if I'd like to review something from their site I knew it HAD to be this Lipstick print chiffon tunic. With it being chiffon I was worried that I'd get too warm in it as I'm just a really hot blooded person and always boiling but surprisingly for me this was fine! I decided to order a 22/24 as I wasn't sure on sizing and in the past I've usually had to wear a UK22 with Lovedrobe but I think I'd have gotten away with the 20 in this. However I do like it being more oversized so I can belt it and wear it with leggings. The sleeves are elasticated at the bottom with means you can roll them up like I have here or have them sitting on your lower arm. 

Here I've dressed it up more but I've also worn it with a scruffy pair of converse when I've been running errands so it's really versatile. I'm hoping to go out for drinks in Manchester soon with one of my old friends and I think this top would work perfectly with some wedges and a (p)leather jacket. If you can't tell I'm totally smitten with this and I will definitely be keeping an eye out on Lovedrobes website to see if they bring anymore super cute prints out! Polly Grace - Tee Shirt Challenge.

The lovely team over at Polly Grace popped me an email not so long ago asking if I'd like to take part in a little challenge by styling up a Top or tunic with a pair of leggings from their range. Now I love a good challenge and decided straight away that I'd have a go at dressing them up a little so it would be something that could work for a few drinks out in town and hopefully I think it does! 

Here I'm wearing this adorable pineapple printed tee in a UK 22/24 I wanted a relaxed fit so I could wear it with leggings but I think I would have been perfectly fine in my usual size. I was a little dubious as the next size down was an 18/20 and usually I'm more of a 20/22, I needn't have worried though! I paired it with the Polly Leggings but rolled them up once or twice as being 5'2 bottoms can often be too long on me! these are true to size in a UK20 and very comfortable to wear! Initially I wasn't sure what to accessorise this look with but once I put on my usual slick of red lipstick I knew I had to have my bag and shoes to match with it. My shoes are of the jelly variety and I also own them in black, I've since found them in an array of different colours so I may have to stock up as I seem to be able to wear these beauties for more than 10 minutes unlike how I am with 'normal' heels! 

Over all I'm pretty impressed with Polly Grace and I can't wait to see what they'll have for A/W!

#DressUpWithGeorge - Part 1.

When the lovelies over at George gave me the opportunity to style up one dress in three different ways I certainly jumped at the chance, I always love a challenge particularly when it involves pretty clothes. Originally I was going to put all the looks into one post but I've now decided to do this in three parts as I was really happy with the photos I've finally managed to take! This look was the last one I shot but I wanted to pop it up first as it's definitely my favourite! As you know from past posts I'm a little bit of a retro fan so when I saw that the dress came with the patent red belt I just knew I had to play to that and make it a little pin up inspired.

The top of this dress is actually a thick stretch jersey and the bottom is more like a cotton mix with no stretch. Its white and navy stripes which I think is fab in Spring/Summer as it can be less harsh as monochrome (though we all know I wear that ALL the time) I decided to style this with some matte red lips, I'm wearing one of the Loreal True Reds I believe. My cat eye glasses which are a firm favourite of mine to wear for events at work and my lovely red rose hair flower which I feel works with everything and absolutely love. On my feet I'm wearing an adorable pair of Bait shoes which I got through work and they look like heaven but hurt like hell. Maybe US sizing is different to the UK but these pinch my feet so badly which is such a shame as they are the pretty pair. I do have duck feet so maybe if you're feet aren't quite so wide you'd have no problem at all! I finished the look with my newest purchase from Blackheart Creatives which is this fab lipstick brooch, which is very similar to the custom necklace in my last post but once I saw it I just knew it had to be mine!

Southport Pier.

I took these snaps while we wandered down the pier before leaving Southport after I'd visited Taking Shape. Looking back I could have probably worn something that was a little more high fashion and interesting but I knew I'd end up walking a fair bit (my Dad likes to aimlessly wander everywhere!) so I choose comfort over style. I also knew it'd be windy so decided against the adorable skirt I was going to wear, which I instantly regretted not doing so as soon I got there. I have to admit this shirt is probably a little too short to wear with leggings and a long vest something just doesn't look right... Oh well you live and learn!

I've been wearing these shoes ever since they arrived. I never thought I'd get obsessed with converse again like I was when I was 13 (wannabe emo years, my colour choice was bright pink/ black with star print laces, oh so cool...) but low and behold I've hardly had these beauties off my feet. they work with everything I swear even my lipstick! I'm wearing one of the new Bourjois Velvet lipsticks in these photos and I am in love it's giving my Revlon matte balm a serious run for it's money!

Even though I'm not in love with these photographs it was a sunny day and seemed a waste not to show them you! And I'll definitely be visiting Southport again as they're sprucing up so much on the front and there is also a number of hidden gems that make it even better!

Cause, Lipstick on your Collar Told a Tale on you, Boy.

I did this shoot for a project I handed in at Uni a few days back and I thought I'd show you guys my fiercest model poses... big thanks to my rather fabulous boss who snapped these for me after work. Who'd have thought the stairs up to my office would be the perfect place for the photo shoot session! These were for a competition as well as so we'll see how that goes but everyone who entered was seriously amazing so I don't think I'll have much of a chance I'm afraid! 

I utterly adore this fabric, so much so that when I found it I bought 4 metres and I'm totally wishing I'd bought more! I'm hoping to whip up a circle skirt and crop top with what I have left if I can! I decided to go with a cute retro inspired look with modern accent, hence the amazing shoes and my statement necklace. I was sent this sunglasses as a lovely surprise from Specspost and I'm completely over the moon and have already been worn countless times, even inside! They've got my prescription in and they're just perfect to injecting some vintage glamour to my peepers!

My sewing skills still aren't top notch but I am getting better and as I'm slowly learning to make patterns in my size (this one for the competition was originally a size 6) thanks to my tutors help, I'm hoping my confidence will grow! I'll hopefully have another shoot for you soon with a jacket I designed and created myself, some of you may have seen it on my Instagram way back at the end of January when I finished that unit. I'm hoping to post more of my Uni things, so hopefully you like seeing what I design and make!

Ed's Diner.

These snaps were taken by the fab HMS Vintage at Ed's Diner in Cheshire Oaks for the magazine I work at (Vintage Life, check us out here and here) I thought as I was all dressed up and wearing something other than flats that I'd pop these up for you to see! These were in our latest January issue so I've had to wait a little bit before I showed you the proper photographs. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have spotted a few sneaky snaps way back at the start of December when these were taken.

The rest of our team and myself were lucky enough to be sent some fabulous pieces from vintage reproduction companies like Voodoo Vixen and Lindy Bop to wear and I have to say I adore this dress as with a number of repro companies I tend to size up in clothes so here I'm wearing a 22, I just adore the style, cut and bow just my cup of tea! My boss/editor was sweet enough to curl my hair and I slicked on my brightest lippie. 2014 is the year I'm going to full embrace my love of red lipsticks, I own probably over 30 at least (I really wish I was joking) I'm trying to wear them as much as possible but after buying Mac's Ruby Woo and Lady Danger, nothing compares! They last all day and don't bleed around my lip line, just a dream really.

I was surprised how comfortable I felt when these pictures were taken, I'm usually extremely awkward when someone else is snapping away! Something like shoot of any kind in public would have freaked me out a few years back but now not so much, maybe I should be more brave this year as well and do more shoots? Answers on a postcard or just tell me what to do!

The Rich is Back!

Wearing all Benefit on my face bar face powder, concealer and a red lip stain used to enhance the gloss.

This is part of my make up looks with the fabulous Limited Edition Matthew Williamson The Rich is Back Makeup Kit from Benefit. The lovelies who sent me this said create anything you like and as I'm very much still an amature when it comes to applying make up so this was certainly something different! Now if we were talking lipstick I could do that like a pro but generally speaking I never bother with my eyes as they're either covered by my glasses or my annoying thick hair. I was most excited for the mini mascara to arrive as  I've seen so much hype around the piece that I wanted to try one for myself! I wouldn't say it's life changing moment when I pop it on but it keeps my lashes dark and thick without it all smudging down the road in the rain after you've ran everywhere else too! My look is an alternative on the classic Cat Eye flick!

Step by Step:

1. Covered whole eye socket in disco dust, taking particular attention to the corner of my eyes.
2. Kept Solid Gold concentrated on my lid only to create the a shimmering effect when layered.

3. shaded with Get Down Brown and blended with some more Solid Gold

4. Put a cotton ball dipped into water and dampen the end of a fine eyeliner brush (mines from Real Techniques) and line eyes with a flick using Feel So Teal.
5. Lightly used Get Down Brown and Feel So Teal sparingly on my lower lash line.
6. Curled my lashes then used They're Real Mascara and used the tip for lower lashes.

7. I used a felt tip lip stain under the gloss to give a slightly more intense colour.
8. Finally used Gimme Fever lightly on cheeks and also on my brow bone to catch the light.

I'm no beauty whizz but I was super happy with how this look came out! And of course also loved this fab set! I've always been a fan of Benefit Cosmetics but always shied away from anything but there primers but this would be fabulous as a gift for some of my nearest and dearest as even though the colours aren't something I'd normally wear they're all set out to compliment each other beautifully! This was my first ever kind of beauty post so I'm still a little wobbly with my descriptions! This look was used in an upcoming outfit post and I'll be posting my second look shortly!

Plus North Premier Spotlight Simply Be.

As you can see I didn't cause to much fuss styling it with a chunky chain (which I'm obsessed with) and matching my bag to my lipstick, sorry I couldn't help myself! I find this dress very true to size in fact I think I would have fitted in an 18 okay other than buttons possibly gaping slightly. I decided to wear my hair up again which is something I don't often do out and about usually I just have it like this around the house but lately all I want is my hair up and out of the way. As a daily glasses wearer I thought it was about time I wore them in more outfit posts on here specially now I have a few pairs of frames I actually LOVE including these fabulous ones Specspost sent me. So now I'm a specky four eyes and way more proud about it!
