Velvet Dream.

Dress: Evans (c/o House of Fraser) Shoes: Next. Clutch: Evans.

This is a long awaited party outfit post I meant to get up over Christmas but due to lots of last minute drastic changes in the pantomime I do costumes for and unfortunately a neighbour I was very close to (Patches owner) passing away. This is the first time I've been able to sit down to write. The lovely team over at House of Fraser gave me the option to choose an item from there Evans selection on the site and I just couldn't stop going back to this beautiful velvet number! The camera doesn't pick up how beautiful it is, you can wear it on or off the shoulder and has an utterly lovely almost peplum like frill on the chest which is also part of the sleeves and back. This means it gives you a little coverage on your arms if you feel a little insecure about them, which I do with my own sometimes!

I'm wearing a UK size 20 which is my usual go to, I always find Evans clothing is pretty true to size meaning I don't have to worry so much about what size I would need. Another thing I love about Evans is the wide fit options in footwear and you can also buy these from House of Fraser as well. The perfect one stop shop! If I'm looking for occasion wear in plus sizes HOF is my go to as they also stock the fabulous Studio 8 which have the MOST beautiful dresses! I decided to keep this pretty simple but perfect for the part season with a sequin clutch and my sparkly flatforms. I did something a little different with my hair and curled it away off my face, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it but I love my hair like this!

House of Fraser currently have some fab pieces from Evans Clothing in their sale at the moment! As well as a whole host of other plus size pieces! The dress above is now sold out on HOF but is still available at Evans in limited sizes.

After Show Party.

Dress/Belt: Asos Curve (altered by me). Pleather Jacket: Dorothy Perkins. Clutch: Accessorize Sale.

I talked my mum into snapping these pictures while we were at the Pantomimes After Show Party (though its a week after the show's finished) I wanted to be comfortable as my stomach was killing that day and really swollen, thankfully you can't tell in the pictures or in this dress! The outfit wasn't thought about to much I just threw on what I felt like and I'm starting to really get into wearing tights again now after spending the last year living in leggings, though these tights were the bain of my life! Nothing worse than tights rolling down constantly!

I wore this dress a few weeks back for an event at Evans (which I will blog about soon, promise!) and loved it so much I new I had to wear it again as soon as possible! I wore it as a swing dress on that day but this time I decided to belt it with another Asos Curve purchase which has been worn to death on my blog already. All I had to alter was taking up the length as I'm short and curve dresses always seem to be longer than the normal range, its now at the perfect length. The pleather jacket is another recent piece of my wardrobe I've been after the perfect one for ages and they were either studded or to long in the body for me, I finally found this one in Dorothy Perkins and yes it was a little more than what I generally wanted to spend but for a timeless jacket I could let it slide this time! And finally my bag is new too, I got an accessorize voucher for Christmas of a relative and I knew I had to hunt this beauty down and snap it up in the sale, it works with so much of my stuff which I thought it wouldn't and it just gives a quirky edge to all my outfits!

My make up was a little dressier than normal with a shimmery eyeshadow and cat eye flicks then instead of my usual bright red lip I went for a softer look with a revlon just bitten kissable balm stain and I'm a huge fan of these, so look out on the blog for them in the near future!

New Years.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

These are just a selection of pictures from my lovely friend's party last night, unlike last years I was very, very sober though if it wasn't for my medication I probably wouldn't of been! I spent new years with some of the people I love dearly, all my friends. They all know I blog and tend to have sneaky reads from time to time! In fact the wonderful image of my friend Billy with his mouth open and posing was requested to go up in his slightly drunken state so lets hope hes see's it! I also put a picture in of one of my oldest friend Joe's 3 piece suit he wore, He's got some serious style I'm going to try and badger him next time he's home from Sandhurst to get some pictures of him to put up on here, he dresses so well! The only other pictures of him are from this party so long ago! My friend Becca in the grey dress had the cutest clutch ever so I got a full length shot of her by the tree. It's from Accesorize and was reduced from £22 to £12 I'm going to go and hunt it down for myself it's so beautiful.

This year with my outfit was a little more out of my comfort zone than what I would of worn a year ago! But who cares I actually felt fine, maybe even great in it! The bra under is a longline from Matalan, I actually love loads of there lingerie lately! I bought the top in the Next sales along with my shoes which I AM IN LOVE WITH and I've been praising them on twitter to! I paired them with a skater skirt from Asos and some tights. Then I wore my trusty red lip stain and matching it to my bra which you a little visible under the top, was that trashy matching them? You know what I don't care I loved it! This is a look I am definitely going to try again which mean you'll probably have lots more posts with visible bra being shown on purpose!

Finally I had to get into there downstairs shower and pretend I was singing into it because that is something I tend to do at house parties! I just realised how picture heavy this post is, I am so sorry but I loved to many of them not to include them! Hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve and Day!

Feeling Festive? Trendy Tops for Christmas Parties.

Now I'll be the first to say I always thought Bonmarche was somewhere I'd never find anything that would work for me but I'd have to say looking through the site tonight I've found these 3 tops that I really like! They are also at a very reasonable price compared to how much some retailers who charge for plus size ladies tops, All the items are available in sizes 12 through to 24.

The glitter tunic is something I know would be glitzy enough for a whole range of parties or occasions over the festive period! From work's Christmas do to a family meal this would look lovely for all. I'd wear with  either very thick tights or a pair of plain leggings so not to take focus away from the twinkling fabric and adorned cuffs. Second is another top I'd pair with leggings, I know that if you've been reading my blog for awhile that I basically live in the things! I'd also add a quirky belt and some cute heels and a clutch bag to finish this look it could also be dressed down with denim leggings and a cute satchel. Finally the adorable velour animal printed top, I love the colours and the print is interesting enough to catch the eye without be really OTT. I would wear this tucked into a pencil skirt or a pair of high waisted jeans and with either cute pumps, flatforms or wedges (I'm not a heel kind of girl!) This would look great for a casual night out or just to make everyday a little more interesting.

As always all of these lovely pieces would be finished off with a slick of red lipstick! Which top is your favourite and have you shopped in Bonmarche before?

Casual Partywear?

The lovely ladies at Matalan asked If I'd like to go a guest post on the Matalan blog about party wear and this is it! Now I'm really good at lusting over sparkly dresses in store and online but I just never feel comfortable when it comes to wearing them, if I'm going to be at a party all night I want to look good but also feel comfortable in what I'm wearing, there is nothing worse than the girl you see tugging at the hem of her dress all night to make sure her bum isn't on show believe me this has been me far to many times!

For this look I decided on something I know I'd be comfortable in which is of course leggings! These ones  are supposed to have a dip dye effect on them but its extremely subtle and is only slightly picked up on the camera. I think some glitzy patterned leggings would also look amazing with this look! I saw this top online and thought the way it drapes makes it very original without any over the top detailing keeping the front very minimal, now what I will say is it's very short I didn't realise it was a crop top until it arrived in the post so I just popped a dress slip underneath  so it would work for me. I felt a little plain one top so I popped this studded necklace on I got from Matalan in the sale a while ago.

NOW THIS BAG IS THE BAG OF DREAMS or actually this is what I called it when I saw it online. I always think a quirky bag can make an otherwise plain outfit something different. And this bag I LOVE IT, big enough to fit everything you could need in but still easy to hold as a clutch the colour also pops perfectly against a pretty black outfit making a lovely contrast, also how cute are the horses!?  Finally I finished with very dark lips which I'm really getting into at the moment and make a nice change from my normal red colour and rosey cheeks, I'm really getting into blushers and just bought a cream blush from MUA which I'm loving!

What do you wear for parties? Do you go all out with the sequins and glitter or keep it unstated with simple shades and quirky clutches?

Kassidy.

Just some pictures of what I wore to a gig tonight and 2 sneaky instagram pictures of the support and headline band ( thanks to Nic for these, I borrowed them off her!) The band I went to see at the Sound House were Kassidy and I am seriously impressed! There Scottish and all there songs are just brilliant, they also all have hair at least to there shoulders if not longer, my fave is the blonde haired one and there roadie who's ginger and they have nicknamed ginger ninja (honestly its his twitter name!)

I posted a couple of snaps of what I was wearing on my twit pic with my web cam and to be honest I think I prefer those pictures but here are some I took when I got in hence the slightly disheveled face! So my outfit was pretty plain so jewelry or anything I just didn't fancy getting to fussy I wanted to be comfortable but still interesting. So I wore this amazing shirt from Asos which I love to bits! It's so easy to wear and is such an amazing print the only downside being it creases so easily! Now the skirt is from Matalan I picked it up as a good basic but have slightly fallen in love, it's the perfect jersey skirt! The pockets are deep enough for your hands and stuff to actually fit in, short enough without making me fully flash my knickers and it sits really nicely on my body, the fact it only cost a fiver is just a bonus really! I just finished the outfit off with Primark flats, tights and a vintage bag from a charity shop.

My hair and makeup were even behaving tonight so I felt really good going out for a change! I just finished with some lip stain because I knew I'd probably have a pint and didn't bother with eyeliner because I knew I'd be wearing my glasses! I'm off home tomorrow (or today depending that date it says when I post this!) in the evening I have a massive party for an old family friend so I'll make sure I get a snap of my outfit as its a dress occasion.

The Birthday Party.

I know this is really picture heavy so I'll try and not be to wordy! On Saturday night it was my best friend lily's mums 50th and a few of us were invited and it was so much fun! We danced and drank quite a lot... but then it was also really lovely being with my friends before we all get thrown to different uni's. The guy in the white shirt and black tie we had never met before until the party he was paid to sing and play the piano but towards the more drunken end of the evening we all danced ( in my case extremely badly ) to lady gaga's bad romance.

My dress is from next where I've had summer temp job recently (which is soon to end! booo) but I've recently altered it ready for my brothers graduation so you'll be seeing those pictures by the weekend! My friend Sophie who is the brown haired girl is wearing a dress from primark and she looked just lovely! Then my best friend Lily (who's mums party it was) is wearing a really feminine floaty pink dress from River Island. Two of our lad friends were also there but they were doing the job of waiters for the night and oh did we take advantage of that!

You can also see pictured is my awful fringe, if you follow me on twitter you would of seen the very grumpy tweets about it! Thankfully its seems to have grown a little and now I'm remotely getting used to it.....

Prom.

These are just a few pictures from my friends 6th form leavers prom I attended on Wednesday evening. I felt a little messy because I'd rushed from college, but it was all fine in the end. I don't want to bore you with to much babbling but I'll just say I had a lovely night and ended up walking home from a friends party at 5.30 this morning, I also meant to get some outfit pictures I did but a lot of light flooded in so I don't know how good they'll look but I shall upload them regardless. I have to say one of the best things about last night was seeing all my friends and just thinking how much we've grown in the past few years, especially as I've been at college so I haven't seen them all on a daily basis for a long time its much more noticeable to me. Were all going to uni or moving on to something new and different, but I know we'll all be able to meet up once in a while and it will just all fit into place.

Tomorrow is my last official day in college as a student how scary is that! Two years have definitely gone quickly, I can't quite believe I could possibly be going to uni, its terrifying!

And lastly may I just reassure you by saying I was not tipsy in any of these pictures......
