Everybody, Get down tonight.

SSSSSSSS CLUBBBBB (there ain't no party like an S Club party!)

So that time of year has been put upon us once again, the Christmas parties. Now I realise a number have been and gone but lets not forget all the ladies and gents who work in retail or hospitality who often don't get chance to have there festive shenanigan's until January because they're busy working all over the Christmas holiday!

So I'd thought I'd show you a few party stereotypes Curvissa sent me across to collaborate on with them. Now when I look at these myself I automatically think I'm certainly Number 1 - The Over-Dresser but in my defence who would I be to turn down an opportunity to get my glad rags on and sprinkle myself with sequins? We had my office blocks Christmas party just before we closed for the festive period and my work were certainly some of the most glamorous there in our wiggle and swing dresses and a healthy dose of glitter!

Now see what Curvissa say about the thoughts of The Over-Dresser.

"Someone misinterpreted the dress-code… awkward! She'll be wearing an extravagant style prom dress, too much fake tan, festive nails and overly high heels; probably not the best code of conduct if your office do is in the local bowling alley."

If you change up the high heels for glittery flatforms and vibrant lipstick for the fake tan it's not far wrong! Though working at a Vintage Magazine does mean I do luckily get chance to wear the odd pretty prom dress and express myself as I wish (though as on a usual basis I walk to work I tend to stick to something the wind won't blow me away in!) I'd choose something like this stunning little cocktail dress below to wear all I'd need would be a slick of glossy red lipstick and perfectly primped hair!

It doesn't take me long to party once I've decided what to wear and according to a current survey I'm one of the majority for the North West as it takes 21% 15-30 minutes to get ready compared to Scotland where it takes 22% of the lashes over an hour to be party ready! Something else I love about office and social parties is that you get to see how everyone else likes to dress up when they're not suited and booted for work and the survey found out that 67% of women pay attention to what everyone is wearing and who doesn't love a good nosey at people fashion choices. The reason  57% of the women surveyed said they paid attention was just because “it’s nice to see everyone’s dress sense” and truthfully I couldn't agree more!

So why not see which Work Christmas Party Stereotype you are?  and I couldn't resist using S Club 7 for the title as it is a party classic!

Highcross Simply Be My Two Favourite Looks.

I won't ramble on to much in this post about the store itself as I already said pretty much everything in my earlier one but one thing I will say is I adore the Simply Be fitting rooms they're just so pretty and feminine you feel good trying clothes on in them unlike other stores where the curtain doesn't go all the way across and there's chewing gum stuck to them (yes that has happened to me in changing rooms). I always feel comfortable in the rooms as well as there's no banging elbows on walls and with plenty of room around you and nice lighting everything just looks that much better!

These two dresses were what I decided as my favourite party style outfits because primarily they are colourful a little different and comfortable! To start with I thought the golden baroque style printed dress would be to long and look awful on me but once I got it on I decided I loved it and it was so comfortable and fabric was soft and draped beautifully once on my body I also realised that it didn't feel as long on me as it looked. So was clearly a winner all round. The second dress I had seen on the odd blogger or two so I thought I'd give it ago after having the same style with the floral print. This dress is pretty generous with its sizing either that or I've dropped a dress size (which is a remote possibility, due to being ill)  but the size 18 fitted me perfectly and I just love the colours on it without it being too colourful, if that makes any sense at all! I paired both of these with the adorable glittery box clutch bag to add just a little bit of sparkle.

These pictures were taken in the Magic Mirror which is so so cool, you really need to get down to a Simply Be store and try them out for yourself if you haven't already!

Simply Lovely.

Dress: c/o Simply Be. Belt: Asos Curve. Leggings: Matalan.

The lovely ladies at Simply Be were nice enough to let me choose one of my favourite dresses from the selection of beautiful party wear on the site and it's utterly lush! I have to admit when it comes to dresses especially Christmas dresses I'm always that girl who goes straight to black ones for some reason I always do, I feel safe in black because if you're clumsy like me and spill "ribena" all down yourself after your third glass of it black is always safer! This dress has definitely brought me out of my party dress comfort zone I didn't know I had until recently. The colours on this are to die for and look even more beautiful in person, I reflected the deep burgundy colour of the flowers with my lip colour which is Rouge Volupte by YSL.

I also find the cut of this dress really flattering and more importantly comfortable, it doesn't dig into my arms or waist in anyway or cling to my main problem area which is primarily is my tummy. I'm really impressed that the waistline on the dress isn't to long for me either as I'm only 5'2 so I'm pretty short! I love the capped sleeve as it means I have a little coverage on my arms and don't need to ruin the silhouette of the dress by having a unfitted cardigan. You can also see the lovely detail of the cut out on the back of the dress which makes it a bit more different though don't worry it doesn't reveal bra straps or anything like that! I just finished it with my belt to pull the look all together I like the harder edge it gives to the floral dress too!

I think it's pretty obviously that I love this dress and I'm sure it'll get lots of wear over this christmas!

Casual Partywear?

The lovely ladies at Matalan asked If I'd like to go a guest post on the Matalan blog about party wear and this is it! Now I'm really good at lusting over sparkly dresses in store and online but I just never feel comfortable when it comes to wearing them, if I'm going to be at a party all night I want to look good but also feel comfortable in what I'm wearing, there is nothing worse than the girl you see tugging at the hem of her dress all night to make sure her bum isn't on show believe me this has been me far to many times!

For this look I decided on something I know I'd be comfortable in which is of course leggings! These ones  are supposed to have a dip dye effect on them but its extremely subtle and is only slightly picked up on the camera. I think some glitzy patterned leggings would also look amazing with this look! I saw this top online and thought the way it drapes makes it very original without any over the top detailing keeping the front very minimal, now what I will say is it's very short I didn't realise it was a crop top until it arrived in the post so I just popped a dress slip underneath  so it would work for me. I felt a little plain one top so I popped this studded necklace on I got from Matalan in the sale a while ago.

NOW THIS BAG IS THE BAG OF DREAMS or actually this is what I called it when I saw it online. I always think a quirky bag can make an otherwise plain outfit something different. And this bag I LOVE IT, big enough to fit everything you could need in but still easy to hold as a clutch the colour also pops perfectly against a pretty black outfit making a lovely contrast, also how cute are the horses!?  Finally I finished with very dark lips which I'm really getting into at the moment and make a nice change from my normal red colour and rosey cheeks, I'm really getting into blushers and just bought a cream blush from MUA which I'm loving!

What do you wear for parties? Do you go all out with the sequins and glitter or keep it unstated with simple shades and quirky clutches?

Another Dress.

Just a quick post to ask all your lovely opinions on yet another dress! Yes I think its clear now I have a dress obsession. I've been looking for the perfect one for a party on Friday but I still don't know if I've found the perfect one. Now don't get me wrong on the littlewoods clearance on eBay this seemed perfect slouchy not to long black and really beautiful detailing on the sleeves and neckline. But I think it may run slightly small as its snugger than I would of wanted to really but alas they didn't go up to a 22 otherwise I would of probably size up anyway. I also bought a purple pleated skirt from the clearance to and it is lovely but so short!

I could wear a skirt over this dress but then it hides the cute pockets. So I just have no idea, and I'm completely open to your overly honest opinions and idea's towards what I can do or should do. I also thought I could wear some hardcore shape wear under it but as I don't actually own any that works and don't have the money for decent ones I might give primarks a try as one of your lovely girls on twitter mentioned that they were pretty good! PLEASE HELP ME.

Perfect Party Frocks.

As Christmas day is something like only five days away! YES ONLY FIVE PANIC MODE IS WELL AND TRULY ON if you've still got lots of parties to go to I'm here to help I thought I'd do a post on some of the beautiful frocks from Simply Be Now unless your living under a rock you will know that they are one of the best places for plus size women's clothing if your after something fashionable but also flattering.

Now if you've been following my blog for a while you'll know I love anything with a cute collar so this peter pan collared tunic style dress is perfect for me not too dressy but enough detail on it for the festive season. Also the fabric it is made of will be perfect to wear when your filling your tummy with all that Christmas food! I'm also a huge fan of lace in particular lace dresses but I always tend to go for black ones but as I'm now much more confident in myself I would go for this beautiful angel ribbons lace tunic dress the style of the sleeves and flare of the bottom of the dress would just look great for a festive night out.

The final dress I have chosen to show you is this gorgeous glitter spot prom number, this would be great if you want the main focus to be the bottom half of your body and not your chest, it also adds a little sparkle without you ending up twinkling like a Christmas bauble. I would finish this look with a slick of pillar box red lipstick and a little shawl or bolero of some kind.

I hope you've liked reading this post as I want to show that not all plus size stores are frumpy and I think simply be really show that you can be over a size 18 and be fashionable! I'm hoping to get a few outfit posts/reviews up this week before Christmas day!
