Winter Pampering with Bonmarche.
Another Year Over and We're Still Together.
I couldn't say if my style has changed drastically this year but its definitely evolved in many ways. I'd love to know if looking back at my style in 2011 what you think has changed from that in 2012 (other than me finally wearing the right sized bra, best thing I ever did was to get fitted!) And finally I've decided that 2013 is for sure going to be my year, where I achieve things I've always wanted to how ever big or small and do what I want and what is right for me not what I think people would want me to do! I hope everyone else's 2013 will be epic as well!
The Brit Awards; Ed Sheeran and The Boys.
I felt like writing a little bit about the Brits.. but as you all know I utterly adore Ed Sheeran, so it felt only natural for me to post his performance from last night. Now at the time I was gutted that he wasn't in a suit but thankfully when he got his second Brit (YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY HE GOT TWO!) he wore a lovely suit thought I am a little bias and it was probably so lovely because he was in fact wearing it. When Ed accepted his awards he was just so humble and grateful you could tell on his beautiful little face. Though I can't recall everything he said as I was screaming at the telly at the time I also had a total meltdown moment when One Direction won Best British Single, now I know a number of you bloggers no how slightly obsessed I am with the band because as soon as either them or Ed came on the screen I was getting bombared by tweets saying you all bet I was going crazy which I was... but in honestly I was so proud in these moments, definitely cringe worthy fangirl! 1D and Ed obviously have very good stylists or mums in Ed's as when I met him, he said he didn't have a stylist... and I know its the wonderful Caroline Watson who dresses 1D, as all of the lads scrub up very well!
High Waisted shorts and Vintage Tee's.
This top I bought in one of my favourite charity shops in my local town, I don't think I've shown it on the blog before but I know that I've been meaning to! I actually wore it to see one direction the day before Christmas eve. I adore the length of the sleeve hits just above my elbow meaning the area of my arms I'm self conscious about is covered and well the pattern is just adorable! It also has a slightly shoulder pad which I'll possibly take off eventually but for now I like it. The shorts I bought in the Dorothy Perkins sale online high waisted shorts were on my what I want from the sales list. Though I don't know if they work for me they just don't seem high waisted enough I seriously need some shape wear under them otherwise I get a little belly roll, I'm also worried that you can too obviously see the line of my tummy in them too but I suppose its mine so I should embrace it right?!
I just accessorised it with my trusty vintage bag from a charity shop years ago which has been fixed so may times now but I just love it so much I can't bear for it to break! This is the make up I wet out in so I do apologise if it looks like its slipping make up never stays on my face how ever much hairspray I cover it in! I hope to post again around sundayish as on Monday night I'm travelling to London for the Gok Wan for Simply Yours event SOOO EXCITED TO MEET GOK I MIGHT DIE IF HE SAYS ANYTHING NICE TO ME.
Wonderland.
Here are just a few snaps I took of a display in Leicester where I'm at uni. It was just up for Christmas as far as I'm aware but look how pretty it is and some of the characters move from side to side as well. I wanted to take some outfit pictures in front of them but on both accounts of me going to see them it was pouring with rain and I didn't think drowned rat was quite a good look to show you all!
I'm going to try and promise to post again before Christmas as I have a few more to do but alas tomorrow is an extremely busy day if you follow me on twitter you may already know that I'm seeing the One Direction boys in Manchester tomorrow afternoon (yes its a matinee show... so full of kids I'm planning on having a drink before I go just so I can survive the day!)
Update on my life.
Hi guys I just wanted to let you know that I AM ALIVE and that I got back off my weeks holiday last Saturday but My brother still hasn't given me the pictures from it so I've not really had a lot to update on but I just wanted to let you know that the week before I went away I did a weeks work experience with Vintage Life Magazine and had a seriously lovely time! If only I could work there full time! While I was there I did lots of different things from contacting companies to selecting items to go on pages and choosing images for different features.
I also got the chance to do a little guest blogging which I hope I'll be able to do again in the future as I really adore vintage life and everyone who works there were lovely! Here is a link to the post. They now have over 27 thousand likes on facebook and I've been buying since the second issue, which makes me feel special! I promise that I'll be blogging again like normal in the next week! Today I should have got my results for uni but everything seems a little messed up so I'm really stressing.
This week I also traipsed to Salford keys to try and meet some certain boyband members, unfortunately this time I didn't meet them but they did see that it was my friends birthday! I was in two minds as to whether to post these pictures up but I felt the need as I just like looking at them, one of them also waved as us but I thought 3 images were enough for you to handle! I also got stuck in a hedge and covered in scratches, definitly and interesting day...
How did you cope with results day?
p.s please no one unfollow me for my bad taste in boybands!
A leopard lives in a muu tree.
The tunic itself is just about long enough to wear as a dress, though when I did I kept on tugging it down to just make sure my bum was covered! But in these photograph's I'm wearing it with black matalan leggings and some really old Evans shoes, which don't really match the collar on the dress but I thought they just made the look a little more fun. I don't how to describe the fabric which this is made of but it was actually really comfy and was even a little loose on my arms which was brilliant, cause if your anything like me it's actually really hard to find tops which fit my tummy as well as my arms! I think if you wanted a more defined look you could belt this piece but I prefer to leave things loose most of the time. The cardigan I wore with the top was from Dorothy Perkins in the sale a year or so ago and I really like how the leopard print collar and bright blue cardigan clash but actually work really well together. For walking to my interview I teamed the whole look with a vintage thrifted blazer and little vintage patent satchel styled bag.
My make up was pretty simple I just wore more eyeliner on my water line was normal, which meant it was half way down my face by the end of the day just in interest does anyone know a eyeliner which does not end up like this? (preferably a pencil or something) and of course I finished the look with bright red lipstick, also would you believe that my hair held up with paperclips?! which for me gives me a little more confidence so I did talk out more. So my final thought on this tunic is that its really lovely and I'd definitely think about buying it if I tried it on in store!
I just want to say sorry it seems to have taken me days to finally finish this post off, I don't know whats wrong with me at the moment normally I can ramble for the whole world on my blog but recently I've been kind of distracted, I'm blaming Niall (if you have me on twitter you might get why I put that) Finally I've got another interview a week today for Leeds, pretty nervous already but that more because I don't know that I'll wear, well other than red lipstick! I'm going to try and be a very good blogger this weekend as I have a few photo's to post up and video's, and this reminds me I've finally made a new YouTube account which fits me better than my old one the link is here.
I hope all my followers and bloggers have some exciting things planned for this weekend! Tomorrow I'm having to do something for guiding then I think I'll just try and get my head down and get through a lot of my college work.
Let's dance in style, Let's dance for a while.
This little post is just to show you guys what I've been up to over the last week or so, lets just say its been a varied week but its also been so fun as well. I still have the stresses of college and creating my garments ( I'll show you those in a future post) but I had a two day week for enrichment and my tooth has finally been sorted, so obviously my weeks been good! I also became my 13 year old self again on Monday when I queued up at stupid o'clock to meet One Direction, and if you don't know who these beautiful boys are they came third in the last xfactor. So I got the train at 6.22AM and was running down to market street in Manchester at 6.50AM and they were already queuing for what seemed like MILES but me and my lovely friend eleanor managed to get into the last 100 wristbands and got to briefly meet the boys that evening. And yes I did make a prat of myself I shouted at Harry "I know your neighbours but not in a weird way" where he then asked me which ones and how (it was almost a conversation!) then I shook Zayns hand and told him it was lovely to meet him and I got a wink from the lad. okay my teenage girl rant is over now.
Finally on to my outfit post this was taken just before I went out for my friends 18th. We just went as a big group for a meal, yes this was my more mature part of the week. I think you've probably seen all these pieces on the blog before but in different looks! The top I'm wearing is from Dorothy Perkin's and is actually pretty long and very baggy I could of done with downing a size or two, I have a stretch vest underneath from Marks and Spencer's because the shirt its self is rather low cut. I'm wearing one of my favourite skirts which I got in the sale from Dorothy Perkins for 3 pounds before Christmas I wear it all the time with everything, It's one of those pieces that will always look good and that I will feel comfortable in. These are paired with my thick black tights which are a serious wardrobe staple along with a black cardigan, another staple. My jewelry is simple and all I'm wearing is my vintage cameo brooch, well I say vintage my mum found it in the charity shop for £1.49. And I finished the look with a slick of red lipstick and my hair put up.
and below is my only half decent picture I got before we were told not to have posed photographs. (as much as I love one direction and all the boys are charming, there security are such mards!)
