Southport Pier.

Jacket: Dorothy Perkins. Shirt: Charity Shop. Jeggings: Excite Clothing. Converse: Kurt Keiger. Sunglasses: c/o Specspost.

I took these snaps while we wandered down the pier before leaving Southport after I'd visited Taking Shape. Looking back I could have probably worn something that was a little more high fashion and interesting but I knew I'd end up walking a fair bit (my Dad likes to aimlessly wander everywhere!) so I choose comfort over style. I also knew it'd be windy so decided against the adorable skirt I was going to wear, which I instantly regretted not doing so as soon I got there. I have to admit this shirt is probably a little too short to wear with leggings and a long vest something just doesn't look right... Oh well you live and learn!

I've been wearing these shoes ever since they arrived. I never thought I'd get obsessed with converse again like I was when I was 13 (wannabe emo years, my colour choice was bright pink/ black with star print laces, oh so cool...) but low and behold I've hardly had these beauties off my feet. they work with everything I swear even my lipstick! I'm wearing one of the new Bourjois Velvet lipsticks in these photos and I am in love it's giving my Revlon matte balm a serious run for it's money!

Even though I'm not in love with these photographs it was a sunny day and seemed a waste not to show them you! And I'll definitely be visiting Southport again as they're sprucing up so much on the front and there is also a number of hidden gems that make it even better!

Rogers & Rogers for Matalan.

Top: c/o Rogers & Rogers for Matalan. Jeggings: Excite Clothing. Shoes: Topshop. Hair Piece: c/o Wonderland Wigs. Chronic Bitch Face: Yours Truly.

The Fab team over at Matalan were nice enough to offer me a chance to try out a garment from the refreshed collection on offer from there plus size range Rogers & Rogers. If you check out the collection the majority is trusty pieces you can wear time and time again and be reworked in your wardrobe for more than one season. Two of my favourite pieces along with the top I'm wearing and the dress in the same print (nothing beats a cute daisy print!) are This fab striped jumper and adorable floral kimono. At the moment
nothing in the range is over £20 so it's equally fabulous value.

The main reason I choose this top is due to the print as I thought it would be perfect for Spring/Summer, had short sleeves so I wouldn't feel to uncomfortable with my arms being out too much and finally because it , looked long enough to cover my crotch meaning I could wear my beloved leggings as trousers! The only worry I had with this top that whether the cut of the hem would look good on me but I actually love it! I was also curious how the draped fabric which cascades down the front would look and whether it would be over powering but again I was impressed with the over all look! I finished the look with a coloured lip, which isn't red for once! My fab hair piece from Wonderland Wigs because it saves my life when my hairs at it's current awkward stage (read: hides my split ends) and my insanely awesome boots which I've hardly worn enough!

I actually wore this outfit sans the hair piece and swapping my boots for converse for a day at the Safari Park for one of my best friends 21st's and I can vouch that this top is incredible easy to wear, comfortable and most importantly I still felt good in it!

Meet Taking Shape!

Coat: c/o Taking Shape. Jeggings: Excite Clothing. Dress: Matalan. Scarf: Primark.

What now seems like an age ago I was contacted in regards to a well known Australia and New Zealand
brand with oodles (yes I said oodles) of experience which has newly launched in the UK. This brand of course is named Taking Shape! They carry a number of brands to suit an array of lovely ladies. In my eyes I'm probably the youngest of there spectrum but when looking through the site I did see a few pieces I know would work brilliantly within my current eclectic wardrobe including this Highland Rose Top!

I was lucky enough to be asked to choose something from the site and when I saw this coat I couldn't resist. I've been looking for a new winter coat since last year after I realised my previously beloved duffle was more snug than I wished for it to be. I went for a size 22 as I've been feeling like my size has fluctuated within stores lately (whether that's due to all the crisps I eat or companies sizing I can't decide!) so I size up but once it arrived I realised I really needed have worried about it as a size 20 would have fitted fine with room for a jumper underneath! Luckily for me the 22 doesn't look like it's swamping me so I'm happy with that all I've got to do is take the arms up a little because I have short arms! I styled this with my beloved tartan scarf which I haven't stopped wearing since I bought it at the start of September. My new dress I picked up from Matalan yesterday for a fiver and my insanely comfortable leggings from excite clothing!

Taking Shapes price points are a whole range depending on what you're looking for. I'd say the pieces are made to last and be worn often as the first thing I do when I get a garment is check the stitching (problems of being a fashion design student!) and I have to say this coat is beautiful made, so I'm super impressed!

Have you checked out what Taking Shape have to offer and seen anything that's taken your fancy? Let me know in the comments below!

Shirt: New Look Inspire via Asos. Jeggings: Excite Clothing. Biker Jacket: Dorothy Perkins. Necklace: Blackheart Creatives. Shoes: Primark.

Just a quick post from me as I got my lovely friend Jess to snap these for me super quickly on my iPhone while we were at the Gallery of Costume at Platfields in Manchester (if you're interested in clothes from all era's I'd say it's a must see and free!) We'd also spent the morning doing some market research which entailed for me to be like a ninja in The Kooples trying to get some photographs!

I wanted to be comfortable as I knew I'd be standing and wandering around all day. I didn't quite bank on how warm it would be though and ended up dying alive in my jacket but due to the fabric of the top I had to keep it on as the shirt had creased so badly! I will one day try and look less awkward in photographs people have taken for me, I worry I look weird posing but gotta take opportunities of pretty hallways or changes to my brick wall when I can! I do love this shirt though and I sized up so it would be longer in the body meaning I could wear leggings with it. Talking of leggings just in case I haven't said this before these Excite Clothing ones are to die for thick, comfortable and keep there shape well, extremely impressed!

Apologies that I seem to have lost my blogging mojo lately. Not only with starting a new course again and being at work I've also got costumes for 2 upcoming shows to think about so my mind is quite jumbled! I'm hoping in the next week or so I can managed to get some looks shot as I have so many fabulous things to show you!

Plus North Premier Spotlight Excite Clothing.

Pencil Skirt: c/o Excite Clothing. Heels I can't walk in well: Charity Shop originally M&S. Oversized Tee: Asos Maternity.

As you know I'm a part of the Plus North team this year! We have started a series of spotlight posts for our Premier Sponsors for the event this year so you can all see them before the big day on September 7th! (Which is now only a week away and I'm SO behind on these posts!)

Excite have a rather fabulous selection of plus size fashion at amazing prices I own there jeggings and I have to admit I bloody love them! I also own a rather adorable Daisy print tunic from them which is perfect for when I like to be comfortable. For this post we were all sent one of the houndstooth pencil skirts, I got the coral version which matches my home girl Mrs Bebe!

Now I have to admit I've always loved pencil skirts on everyone else but not myself so I found this so hard to style up which is why I probably look a little grumpy in the pictures! I was sent the 18/20 I believe and it does fit extremely well and I do like how it fitted my bum, it's just a style I'm not quite used to yet but will be soon! I paired it with this insanely oversized tee which is a size 12 from the maternity section on Asos, it's generally something I throw on when it's to hot for anything else or I just feel uncomfortable. This time I just couldn't help pairing the adorable cat with the fun colour of the skirt!

Check out how the rest of the team styled up this cute dress below!
