#DressUpWithGeorge - Part 2.

Dress: c/o George at Asda. Shoes: Mel by Melissa. Bag: Accessorize. Hair Flowers: Collectif and Crown and Glory.

So here's part 2 of my #DressUpWithGeorge challenge this time I decided to style it with different shades of blue and not my go to red. As you know from previous posts the Mel Shoes I'm wearing are a firm favourite but I often struggle to match them with pieces in my wardrobe and I wasn't sure they'd look right with the navy but by adding my Crown and Glory Navy, Turquoise and mint hair flowers I think it's helped tie all the colours together a little better!

I also tend to avoid curling my hair as I worry it makes my face look chubbier but I loved how big it was! I finished with some cute frilly socks and my accessorize camera bag! Part 3 will be up very soon where I make the dress a lot more casual!

George have got so many fabulous dresses in at the moment! You can see all their dresses here.

Ditsy Prints with Scarlett and Jo.

Tunic: c/o Scarlett and Jo. Necklace: Topshop. Bag: Accessorize.

The lovely ladies over at Scarlett and Jo also sent me this pretty little tunic along with the Powerfit dress I reviewed here.  Unfortunately this specific tunic is no longer on the Evans site but was when I first drafted this post you can get the same style and cut but in this sweet feather print on this link.

As you can see this is a tunic but as I'm only 5'2 I can just get away with wearing it as a mini style dress and I actually really love it this way! The back is also a little like a dipped hem so it does completely cover your bum with length to space on me which is always a comforting thought! Now I'm a little more confident with my body I don't feel so worried about flashing my legs bare or in tights, so I plan to a lot more in the future! The fabric of this is in a stretch jersey and the most darling ditsy print which have a vintage flare to it of which you know I'm a huge fan of! Not only is this comfortable but it's also fits really well as in my experience all Scarlett and Jo pieces do. the 3/4 sleeve is something I also like on a dress as even though I'm more much confident than I used to be I do still feel a little self conscious over my arms so they're a lovely edition. However I don't tend to go for v neck pieces very often as I sometimes don't feel they really suit me but I'm surprised with how much I like this. I've also worn it a number of times as just a top tucked into a skirt with a vest top underneath. I just finished the look with a cute heart shaped necklace I got last year from Topshop and one of the coolest bags I own, I always seem to pick up a bag or two each year in the accessorise sale and this on is certainly a winner!

As you can see I've got nothing but glowing words for this lovely little tunic and honestly don't think I've ever had a bad word to say about a Scarlett and Jo piece they always come up trumps for me! So what are your favourite pieces from Scarlett & Jo's current collection?

Commissioners Ball.

Me, Adam, Joe, Alex and Dan.

A few weeks ago I visited Sandhurst for one of my oldest friends Commissioners Ball (Joe's in the middle!)
Now of course it was a huge deal and we're all super proud, yes I realise I'm beginning to sound like his mum but it's true we were! It's scary because it actually feels like we are grown ups now and I'd quite like to go all peter pan and not grow up anymore for a while just yet, but unfortunately we have to! The ball was pretty snazzy and warm (as usual I got a little to hot...) My friends parents and older brother and his lovely fiance came too, so it was lovely to have a table full of us!

Of course being a ball it was a black tie kind of event, which was fine for the boys but a bit of a dilemma for me! Luckily the lovely Becky from The Ramblings of Mrs BeBe came to my rescue with this lovely fifties style dress. I wore my petticoat underneath to give it a little more shape and definition added a lovely bolero from The Curvy Collection who you can see on my sidebar and some lovely shoes which Evans kindly sent me way back in the summer. Which as much as I loved I can't last more than a few hours in they killed my feet and everyone assumed I was pissed by the end of the night (which I let them as it was easier than just saying I couldn't walk in heels!) My clutch bag you've seen before and was from accessorize and my hair slide you can only just see I picked up at a Vintage Fair back in January.

It was so lovely to spend time with some of my friends, even though I was the only girl (bar his brothers fiance and his mum). Even the 4/5 hour car journey there and back wasn't at all bad considering I was with all boys, they were trying to make sure they were on there best behaviour! Finally my friend Alex isn't Scottish in case you're wondering he just thought he'd go all out!

After Show Party.

Dress/Belt: Asos Curve (altered by me). Pleather Jacket: Dorothy Perkins. Clutch: Accessorize Sale.

I talked my mum into snapping these pictures while we were at the Pantomimes After Show Party (though its a week after the show's finished) I wanted to be comfortable as my stomach was killing that day and really swollen, thankfully you can't tell in the pictures or in this dress! The outfit wasn't thought about to much I just threw on what I felt like and I'm starting to really get into wearing tights again now after spending the last year living in leggings, though these tights were the bain of my life! Nothing worse than tights rolling down constantly!

I wore this dress a few weeks back for an event at Evans (which I will blog about soon, promise!) and loved it so much I new I had to wear it again as soon as possible! I wore it as a swing dress on that day but this time I decided to belt it with another Asos Curve purchase which has been worn to death on my blog already. All I had to alter was taking up the length as I'm short and curve dresses always seem to be longer than the normal range, its now at the perfect length. The pleather jacket is another recent piece of my wardrobe I've been after the perfect one for ages and they were either studded or to long in the body for me, I finally found this one in Dorothy Perkins and yes it was a little more than what I generally wanted to spend but for a timeless jacket I could let it slide this time! And finally my bag is new too, I got an accessorize voucher for Christmas of a relative and I knew I had to hunt this beauty down and snap it up in the sale, it works with so much of my stuff which I thought it wouldn't and it just gives a quirky edge to all my outfits!

My make up was a little dressier than normal with a shimmery eyeshadow and cat eye flicks then instead of my usual bright red lip I went for a softer look with a revlon just bitten kissable balm stain and I'm a huge fan of these, so look out on the blog for them in the near future!
