Simply Be Quote.

I just wanted to quickly post this up in case some of you guys hadn't seen it on either the Simply Be facebook page or twitter! They were nice enough to use me as one of there favourite quotes and to me this is a pretty big deal. Primarily because I'm very dyslexic and have erlens so it's incredible rare for me to ever be quoted on anything!

Also I hope you all agree with what I'm saying. I definitely wish that when I was a teenager (well a younger one as I'm nearly out of that bracket now!) that I'd had people like all of us bloggers to look up to and think it was okay to be how I was. between the ages of 12-16 I didn't think it was okay at all and I guess you could say it made me a little miserable at the time, which in turn just made me want to eat more! So now I'm glad that I can possible be classed as someone for plus size teens to look up to in a way because when I was sixteen I'd never of thought I would be. And even today I have all of the bloggers to look up to when I'm feeling rubbish about myself!

  2. i love this! i've probably already told you this but i'm currently writing my dissertation on the lack of inspirational models of ALL sizes - and the fact that women are 'expected' to look a certain way sometimes, which is completely stupid! i'd love to use this post in my dissertation if thats okay :)

  3. You honestly brought a tear to my eye my dear. This is such a sweet, honest post, and just... awww.

I wish someone had been there for me at that age too. I guess now we can only hope we are that person for someone else. Which is an honour really.

  5. Its so hard for teenagers in these image fixated days. I have a daughter who has just turned 13 and it really upsets me the pressure she feels to look a certain way. We can all just do our own little bit to give them confidence. X

  8. This made me happy to read. I agree! I would've loved for someone to tell me I that I was okay just the way I were. I mean.. Of course someone told me - but there's a differende between your mother saying it and "the world" saying it. I believed my mum meant what she said, but at the same time I knew, that if I wanted to fit it I'd have to change.
