The Connie Dress by Voodoo Vixen.

Before I go into detail shall can I just say

 I UTTERLY LOVE THIS DRESS, IT IS THE DRESS OF DREAMS.

The amazing team over at Voodoo Vixen sent me this dress after I saw it in the main range and fell in love!

They were sweet enough to pop me an email to let me know they were going to bring it into the plus size range and a few months later it landed on my door step and it's everything I imagined! Voodoo Vixen have resized a little and I definitely think it's for the better, I'm wearing a 2XL and at a UK20 I find it a perfect fit on my waist/tummy without being uncomfortable in any places at all. My only issue is the skirt is a little bit long for me but I am 5'2 and can easily take it up a little without any problem (this is just my personal choice as I like my skirts a little shorter nowadays but I'll also happily wear it as this length!) I also find that I don't need a petticoat under this dress and I personally wouldn't wish to add one as I feel the skirt of the dress is a lovely shape and not at all needed. FYI it has pocket that you can actually fit your hands in, I don't know why this excites me so much but it does! 

Now lets talk about the neckline, isn't it just fabulous?! It's low cut enough to show a little cleavage if you want to but not so much that you feel like you're going to be tugging it up constantly.(which is something I'm often guilty of) There is a zip in this dress but I just pull it over my head as the fabric is rather stretch and just works really well. What  also thought was a nice touch is the belt and surprisingly it actually fits, unlike so many plus size dresses that come with belts that don't even go near! I finished the look with some Rockalily lipstick, half my hair up (though I may have preferred to wave my hair in the end, nevermind!) and my vintage reproduction frames which I picked up in the Asos sale and have reglazed at Specpost.

Cause, Lipstick on your Collar Told a Tale on you, Boy.

I did this shoot for a project I handed in at Uni a few days back and I thought I'd show you guys my fiercest model poses... big thanks to my rather fabulous boss who snapped these for me after work. Who'd have thought the stairs up to my office would be the perfect place for the photo shoot session! These were for a competition as well as so we'll see how that goes but everyone who entered was seriously amazing so I don't think I'll have much of a chance I'm afraid! 

I utterly adore this fabric, so much so that when I found it I bought 4 metres and I'm totally wishing I'd bought more! I'm hoping to whip up a circle skirt and crop top with what I have left if I can! I decided to go with a cute retro inspired look with modern accent, hence the amazing shoes and my statement necklace. I was sent this sunglasses as a lovely surprise from Specspost and I'm completely over the moon and have already been worn countless times, even inside! They've got my prescription in and they're just perfect to injecting some vintage glamour to my peepers!

My sewing skills still aren't top notch but I am getting better and as I'm slowly learning to make patterns in my size (this one for the competition was originally a size 6) thanks to my tutors help, I'm hoping my confidence will grow! I'll hopefully have another shoot for you soon with a jacket I designed and created myself, some of you may have seen it on my Instagram way back at the end of January when I finished that unit. I'm hoping to post more of my Uni things, so hopefully you like seeing what I design and make!

Frames one, two and three.

The lovely people at Specs post got in touch with me recently to ask if I'd like to check out some of there glasses, of course I jumped at the chance as I was currently in need of a new set of frames and as I'm supposed to wear my glasses all the time it's nice to have a few different choices in frames to suit whatever mood I'm in at the time.

Whats even better about Specspost is that they let you try the frames before you buy them which means I could decide which ones suited my face more or were just the style I was after! This is something that I think is a fabulous idea for online glasses retailers as the ones where you put a picture on of your face and they like stick an image of the glasses over? I'm sure you know what I mean but anyway I digress! I got to choose three pairs of frames to try out as you can see in the snaps above! They were delivered on next day recorded delivery and Specspost were so lovely sending me them across it was easy and a pleasure!

Now onto the choosing, I asked my lovely followers of twitter and instagram to help me choose and everyone loved them all but I had a soft spot for the cat eye vintage style in black. I've been desperate for a vintage styled pair of frames and these fit the bill perfectly! I can't wait to receive these and combine them into an outfit post. I'm also thinking of doing a make up post of how I wear my make up with my glasses? If you're after a stylish pair of frames at a great price I think this is the perfect place, none of the frames I tried were over £30 if I remember correctly. Also if you have the perfect pair of vintage frames but need your prescription put in them Specspost have an option for this at just £20, I know when I eventually find my perfect frames this is where I'll send them!
